OK Let's see the progress once again. Here are projects that started somewhat. I recon everything else is dead

Nakheel Tower (>3000ft)
Started some ground works but then was put on hold for a year apparantly. I think that year will turn into an infinite amount of time.

Anara (2148ft)
Cancelled. Same developers as Princess Tower and Elite Residence. They demolished the existing building, now the area is being used as a carpark :haha:

Pentominium (2027ft)
5 piling rigs on site doing lots of work. There are more piles here than for the burj dubai and deeper too. I think this will go on hold after the piling finishes but who knows.

Dubai Towers (1804ft, ?ft, ?ft, 1148ft)
On Hold. Was briefly started but the company is in deep deep shit. Was hit hard by corruption and now also the financial crisis. Amazingly their dubai towers doha is still getting built although I think they handed it over to the government of Qatar.

One Park Avenue (1804ft)
On Hold. Was briefly started by Meraas who pretty much appeared and disappeared in the time of a quantum fluctuation. Like my nerdy joke here? :haha:

Burj Al Alam (1675ft)
On Hold. A massive hole in the ground. Has always been insanely slow that it was hard to tell whether it was on hold or not. I think there's a 1% chance this will get built

Burj Al Fattan (around 1500ft)
The existing building is being demolished right now (at an insanely slow pace). Apparantly the company behind this have quite a bit of money so who knows, might even get built (although I doubt it).

Marina 106
Some prep work going on. A big hole has been dug and maybe piling going on by now as well. The site is visible just to the left of the top of 23 Marina.

Damac Heights (1398ft)
The piling contractor came and left. On Hold

Princess Tower (1358ft)
Rising

Marina 101 (1352ft)
Starting to rise now. Don't think it's very fast but not slow either.

The Lighthouse (1319ft)
Piling still going on. They will have to chose a main contractor soon. We will see then if they have the financing or not.

Emirates Park Towers (1296ft and 1296ft)
Rising nicely. Cladding should come soon

23 Marina (1276ft)
Rising at a good steady pace

Elite Residence (1247ft)
Just starting to rise properly now. We'll see what the pace is soon enough

Almas Tower (1191ft)
Topped out. Will be finished soon

LamTara towers (1181ft and 1050ft).
On hold however was already very very slow before TSHTF

Al Attar (1120ft)
On Hold now. Was quite slow anyway but let's hope they finish it so at least it doesn't remain like this

The Torch (1109ft)
Rising

Al Yacoub (1083ft)
Very slow construction (was quick beforehand but has slowed down). I think this will go on hold soon like al attar tower

The Skyscraper (1083ft)
Was on hold for ages but recently restarted. Could easily go on hold again.

The Index (1076ft)
Topped out.

HHHR Tower (1040ft)
Very fast construction. Almost topped out, just need to put on the spire now

Ocean Heights (1017ft)
Rising very quickly (1 floor every 5 days)

Infinity Tower (1007ft)
Original construction disaster fixed, now rising very quickly.

Basically the original big list has been cut into about half the original size:

What I think may go on hold in the future:

Pentominium - We will see in a few months when the piling is finished and they need a main contractor
Lighthouse - Again we will see if they get a main contractor or not.
Burj Al Fattan - Who knows if they will actually start building when the hotel is demolished. Apparantly this company has a lot of funds though
Marina 106 - If this goes on hold it will happen randomly without anyone knowing the reason
The Skyscraper - Again this is al attar. They might finish it in 2012, or 2020.

The crisis hit Dubai hard!!! But despite the crisis they continu to build om smaller and more achievable projects. Well smaller... whats small in Dubai??? (joke)

Kind of Sad Anara isn't going to get build.
Although, I wouldn't be surprised if the design comes back AFTER the financial crisis.

I'm also kind of happy the Lighthouse MIGHT get build, very beautiful design.

Even with the financial crisis 70% chance 25 towers WILL get build. This is VERY good.

And Burj Dubai is one of them.

Hopefully we'll see new waves of mega projecs once the crisis is over.

I want to focus on under construction projects and Culwulla already made a great thread with his diagram updates. I have decided to add to that thread and basically, move this thread over there. So this thread will now be closed and I will use that thread from now on.
