Makkah is amazing really. Am just wonderin, how much of Jabal Omar is u/c now as I've read about it like 2 years ago?

I think they started demolishing the old buildings in the project area and this will take some time. But anyways, the he project will not be completed before 2008.

How's Abraj Al Bait project goin? That hotel tower is still 485 m or did that change?

I didn't hear of any changes. I think I saw some construction pictures in one of the magazines latelly and you can see the hotel tower coming up. I'll try to find it and post it this week.

153 towers for Makkah
Saudi Arabia: Sunday, July 10 - 2005 at 10:48

The Makkah Development Authority is set to approve the building of 153 residential towers at an estimated cost of $3.73bn, in a major housing project in the holy city, according to a report in Arab News. The project will cover 12m sqft and is designed to accommodate 350,000 pilgrims.

King Abdul Aziz Endowment Project
Makkah, Saudi Arabia

Turner is providing project management services for this multi-functional development overlooking the Holy Harem in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. With a built up floor area of 800,000sq.m. the site area consists of a 13-story podium, housing, retail facilities, food courts, specialty restaurants, car parking and mechanical areas topped by five towers. Four of the towers are residential while the fifth is a five-star hotel. The towers range in height from 24-37 floors.

Abraj Al Bait Update was there but for some reason Saudi Guy took it down I dont know why, it was a pic i haven't seen before.
