i dont mind if hdb flats are repainted or upgraded, but they almost always end up looking dreadful. the nicest upgrading i've seen so far i saw just last week or something like that - the elevator at block 227 simei st 4 had an interior of wood veneer. so much better compared to the marble patterns they slap on most elevator doors now.
