Show me a Yoruba Woman that looks like these two Igbo Women:

…and your logic of close proximity is flawed, that’s like saying the San “Bushmen” are the same as the Bantu because they live relatively side by side.

Lastly, during the Yoruba Kingdoms, the Alafin’s traded primarily with Kwa, Asiatic and Arabic Peoples, whereas the Igbo's traded primarily with Bantu People. The Original Eastern Region containing much of Bantu (South) Cameroon gives credence to this.
My point with the 'fair skin' doesn't necessarily justify your point that an average easterner/igbo generally looks different that an average yoruba person, it just means that you are more likely to pick out a fair skinned person randomly from an Igbo bunch. There are several fair skinned yorubas, there's just about an equal chance of being dark or fair skinned, as opposed to the easterners/igbos.

These ordinary people could easily pass for Igbo if I didn't tell you they were all Yoruba, while the popular supermodel Oluchi could easily pass for Yoruba. You could also say Omotola Jalade looks Igbo... it's all personal opinion. There's no science to it.

*Sorry for the breaking pictures*

Omotola

Ordinary people

all 15 of these girls competed for Tyras Nigeria's next top model in 2007. 8 out of 15 is Yoruba, the other 7 are easterners. I bet you can't pick them out.

The winner Olabimitan Adeyinka (Yoruba)

I apologize for being extreme.

But this woman featured in this video is a typical example of the kind of person someone like you would bet his last dollar on that she's an easterner/igbo. I fail to see the reason for that. There her several other pure yorubas like her, and several igbo women who share the same features. Fair skin, pageants, or beauty says absolutely nothing about where you are from in southern nigeria.

I asked you to show me images of Yoruba Women that looked like those two females I showed you.

But that website you posted the images from isn’t a credible source since many of those females aren’t pure Yoruba.

That woman in the video is mixed race and you’re wrong, I wouldn’t think she’s Igbo.

I am an Igbo Man you know, you’re behaving like I have no idea what Igbo People look like.

The Cold War in Nigeria started in 1914 and erupted in 1966 and has since settled down. Things looked bright till the Niger Delta uprising.

Nigerian’s didn't suffer under colonisation like many other Africans, the British ruled Nigeria indirectly, so in essence we governed ourselves during colonisation.

How would you know she's mixed? because of her looks?

I'm Yoruba, and you are behaving like you have no idea how the Yoruba people look. You've still failed to give me distinctive physical features that would distinguish an Igbo person from a yoruba. I see no difference, and you are starting to sound tribal.

Again, how would you know they are not pure Yoruba? they claimed it themselves. How would you know the ones in the pictures you posted are pure Igbos? I don't get what you mean by "show me yoruba women that looks like these two" in what sense? Pretty? fair? what kind of source do you want.

She doesn’t look entirely Black to me; I see thousands of mixed race people here in London. It’s not difficult to tell.

I’m simply saying we look different; you’re the one making an issue out of it. Personally I think most of West African’s have their own unique looks. For example, my Senegalese buddy looks different from my Fante Ghanaian buddy.

Your making it seem like we’re one people, have we ever been one people in the more than one thousand years we’ve been living in that landmass. If I’m not mistaken, part of Yorubaland extends into neighbouring Benin.

Because they could be related to me, my oldest sister is lighter than both of them.

Women that have the same look, I’m not talking about beauty here. I’ve seen many attractive Yoruba Women that didn’t look Igbo.

Like her for example:

Lastly, Igbo and Yoruba People do not live in close proximity to each other. Yoruba’s live in close proximity to the Hausa-Fulani People who are an amalgamation of Northern Groups (Nupe, Hausa, Fulani, Kanuri etc..).

During the Pre-Colonial times, the Fulani Empire conquered Kwara State and convinced the people to rebel against the Alafin of Oyo by adopting the Muslim faith.

Igbo and Yoruba People are separate by thousands of miles and many ethnic groups (Idoma, Igala, Edo, Ijaw, Urhobo, Isoko to name afew) in-between.

Where does mchawi come from cause I know for a fact in Kigoma and in Dar es Salaam you run into people that still use muloji and aren't confused when you use it in a sentence. So where does mchawi come from.

Witchcraft in Kenya is called "uchawi", the person practicing it ia called "mchawi". We definitely dont have "muloji" here but like KVQ said,
some Kenyan bantu communities have something close to that.

I know in kikuyu it's murogi. :-)). I also know that in DRC there's a tribe that calls God "Ngai", just as the Kikuyu and Kamba people of Kenya do.

Look past that and you will notice intra trade existed and evolved to create the current language now labeled as Swahili. The language doesn't fall far from it's bantu origin. whereas you guys may say Mwezi for month in other bantu tongues such as kiluba and tchiluba(as pure as the bantu tongue can get without incursion from foriegn languages) we say Mwenji (Kweji) meaning month or moon. Your telling me with all that likeness people were still waiting for arabs to create their own trade tongue, the language existed way before Arabs came into the picture, it just borrowed few words from trade but not a whole new language.

I must agree with you and disagree with Mwamamwiwa. 35% is waaaaaay too much credit for the arabs. Swahili is probably 90% Mijikenda (bantu), 10% Arabic, Portuguese etc. Even that 10% might be a little generous. I have Mijikenda friends and whenever I hear them speak their tongue it strikes me how very similar it is to Swahili.

Exactly, this tribal shit is what's killing many African countries. I'm suprised on how Nigerians are so Tribal leaning.

Can you Nigerians get over that Tribal shit? Who cares about Yoruban or Igbo? Just put Nigerian girls that's what we need to see

Nigeria is the most populous Country in Africa, there’s more of us than in every single Central African Country combined.

…and there isn’t any tribalism going on here, I have close Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo friends.

if nigeria is the most populous country then so what? is that justify holding the rest of the continent at ransom by showing a few ladies who bleach their skin, get over the unhealthy sick debate of igbo and yoruba, show us original people with big bottom.

Though we got close, neither I nor Rdokoye got 'tribal' on each other. I actually learnt a few things from the debate. If you meet real tribal people, you'll understand that we are saints on this forum.

And by the way, most of the women here are "original" ordinary people with unbleached skins. Beautiful.
