I generally don't have a good view of a lot of "modern" Iranian architecture. For example, I think that that shopping/hotel complex in Tehran with the Persepolis theme is hideous and quite childish in design. However, these buildings are quite lovely! I like the use of the Wind Towers (Iranian in origin - Yazd has a lot of them) as an architectural element. We need to showcase it more as the Arabic countries on the other side of the Persian Gulf have incorporated it in their hotels/buildings and are claiming it as their own.

What's the link? I just checked UNESCO and there was nothing about it. In fact, there are no UNESCO World Heritage sites in the entire UAE.

Anyway, some info about a 4-star hotel project in Bandar Abbas

طرح معماری چهار
الف- موضوع طرح:
طراحي يك هتل 4 ستاره در زميني به مساحت تقريبي يك هكتار در ساحل گلشهر جنوبي شهر بندرعباس مد نظر است.

ب- برنامه فيزيكي
هتل مورد نظر داراي 150 اتاق به مساحت تقريبي 15.000 مترمربع است كه داراي 4 فضاي اصلي به شرح زير است:
- اتاق*هاي ميهمان
- فضاهاي عمومي
- فضاهاي خدماتي
- فضاهاي سرپوشيده خارجي

تعيين جدول ريز فضاها و مساحت هر يك با توجه ضميمه*هاي پيوست، به عهده دانشجو مي*باشد.
ج- محدوديت و امكانات كالبدي طرح
سطح اشغال حداكثر 45% و ارتفاع ساختمان از زمين حداكثر 40 متر باشد.
با توجه به تراز آب*هاي سطحي، در صورت وجود زيرزمين عمق آن از 2 متر بيشتر نباشد.

د- ويژگي*هاي كالبدي و فضايي
- توجه به طرح به عنوان يك اثر شاخص (Land mark)
- تنظيم سلسله مراتب فضايي براي فضاهاي مختلف در مقياس خرد و كلان
- توجه به ورودي (يا ورودي*ها) و الويت*هاي حركتي
- توجه به نور طبيعي
- توجه به شاخص*هاي معماري پايدار (Sustainable Architecture)
- تنظيم حركت*هاي (Circulations) مردم با توجه به مقياس و موقعيت بخش*هاي مختلف و تناسب آن با شار حركتي مردم
- استقرار سازه و انتخاب مصالح با در نظر گرفتن زلزله، آتش*سوزي و ايمني
