Another reliable insider information is that not only are they finding difficult to sell space but also trying hard to hold on to the existing customers who have booked earlier.

I hope the Lanco Hills Signature Tower's structural frame is made of steel. I don't know the circumstances of constructing a 2000-ft tower out of reinforced concrete.

you can think of the material used for building the structure only if it is really constructed.

Insider Info: Lots of IT professionals are defaulting on payments, which means the signature tower is on hold for now.

ROFL ROFL... you really think we're going believe in a little snippet with no source cited like that from you. BTW.. IT companies are the ones that are going to be buying up space in the IT tower not IT professionals..

Sorry .. sorry.. I went and read what your post again..It said the singnature tower and for some reason I read it as the IT tower. Inspite of all the hot air and beautiful rendering, right from the start I knew there was no chance the signature tower was ever going to be built. The engineering ability and would not have been even in the best of times.

sravan I apologize for my previous post

It will be built, but it's on hold until those payments start coming in.

Any thoughts and is any one planning to buy...

Lanco to quit Real Estate for good

Quote:
Lanco to move out of real estate
By Sarita C Singh Nov 08 2009 , New Delhi

the core area of power generation, besides taking up engineering, construction and procurement contracts, and orders for roads, highways and ports. Company’s managing director G Venkatesh Babu told Financial Chronicle on Sunday that the firm will, however, complete the two luxury housing projects in Hyderabad and Chennai.

We have decided not to take up new realty projects going forward, as we have realised that there are too many players in the sector,” Babu said. He said the ever rising power shortage in the country and comparatively lesser number of players makes this sector lucrative.

Lanco is developing a Rs 5,500 crore project — Lanco Hills — spread over 100 acres in Hyderabad. The project includes 15 residential towers, special economic zones and various commercial properties.

The firm has also planned development of Lanco Horizon Properties at Chennai. The township is planned over 80 acres.

Last year, the company had lost about 250 customers of its residential apartments in Hyderabad during the market meltdown. The customers, mostly expatriates, cancelled bookings after paying 40 per cent of the sum required for construction of the apartments.

Each flat in the project costs around Rs 1.5 crore. Following the withdrawal, the company slowed down the project..

Babu said at present the company has a power generation capacity of 950 mw. This includes the 368-mw Kondapalli project in Andhra Pradesh, 120-mw Aban project and a 300-mw facility at Amarkantak in Chhattisgarh.

The company expects to increase the capacity to 4,000 mw in two years. The company also plans to go alone in bidding for upcoming ultra mega power projects. It had bid for the last UMPP at Tilaiya with Malaysia’s Genting. They later withdrew the bid.

Um...

It says they won't take up any new projects, and that they would complete the ones in Hyderabad (Lanco Hills) and Chennai.

Whether or not this includes the Signature Tower remains to be seen. Way to soon to say RIP, guys.

i just think that they r not patient enough n pretty much frustrated with the prevailing economic downturn,it's just a great project that they have envisaged n if they complete it soon with all the amenities n infrastructure there will be many who would buy them, especially our nri andhriites.

Jai

for some reason, i do agree with you. I should've said RIP "for now". Yes, lanco said, it will not take any "NEW" real estate projects from now on. But who is to say, they will not or never build Signature tower.

at the speed that lanco is completing these towers, its incredible. They might as well start sig tower rightaway right after all the residential towers are sold out. Its almost like they wanna go out of top as a last hurray & complete much promised SIG tower at record pace

it could happen. just look at the speed they build these residential towers so far & infra around it. & they claim they've "SLOWED DOWN DUE TO ECONOMIC SLUMP"

I personally dont see any signs of slowing down at all. I see roads, tunnels, streetlights, access roads done at record pace. looks like lanco standards are set high.
