Password Request...System Error?

I understand that there was a recent virus @ SSC and we were told to change our passwords for security reasons. I completed the password changing process long ago (2-3 weeks ago) and today I recieved 6 mails from SSC.
One told me that my password has been reset to ******* (a random series of numbers) and all the other ones told me that I forgot my password and would like to request for a new one. None of these are true and I am still able to use my old password (the one I reset recently) to login. What's going on?
