This is really good news and hope other private airlines start services from Trichy.I think AIE should start more services to Gulf sector rather than KL or Singapore.

If stalin visit IT park location, atleast things would move faster...In the same way, expecting final word about Integrated Bus teminal also.. Proposed IT park buiilding is not at all planned for the growth of Trichy IT industry. They have to plan G+4 like in Madurai atleast. |

![]() I too hope Stalin's visit expedite the IT park work.I think they are waiting for JNNURM to take up the Integrated bus terminal and new market. I really don't know what is ELCOT's plan for Trichy IT park building. They have been giving contrary information for the past couple of years. |

Integrated Bus terminal has to be taken up by the state government inline with other cities of TN. Otherwise majority of the fund will go to only for this purpuse , Wish State government take this work .I think, Trichy and Salem won't get much share of fund in JNNURM like what Coimbatore and Madurai got, So need some real infrasture development work in the city. Well, in fact, it's high time the Indian government should allow many many foreign airlines to operate to Trichy instead. They could even make Trichy airport an International transit point, instead of being point to point. Hence, by this way, Trichy airport could attract many foreign airlines afar. But however, at the same time, infrastructures at the airport should be prepared, ready and operational in order to have such stature.

If corporation is planing a new market, then why spend on expanding the existing Gandhi market? Looks like they don't want to move the market out of city. http://www.dailythanthi.com/thanthie...0455&code=6636 |

Tiruchi-Madurai track electrification by 2010 S. Vydhianathan CHENNAI: With the completion of the Villupuram - Tiruchi electrification, the next phase of work will be on the Tiruchi –Madurai section, which Southern Railway plans to complete by March 2010. R.P. Udayakumar, Chief Project Manager (CPM), Central Organisation for Railway Electrification (CORE), said all physical works had been completed up to Dindigul. Works were in progress on the Dindigul–Madurai section (66 route km). Being a double-line section, electrification had to be done on both lines (132 km route km). After almost 55 years, Indian Railways had decided to extend the electrification beyond Villupuram in the Chennai–Madurai– Kannyakumari section, one of the important trunk routes in the country. The second phase of work on the Ariyalur–Tiruchi section had been completed. K.J.S. Naidu, Commissioner of Railway Safety, inspected the section along with the CPM and S. Subramhanyan, Divisional Railway Manager, Tiruchi Division, last week. The CORE official said that the Commissioner had given his oral clearance and an official letter would be received in a day or two. To start with, 10 pairs of trains would be operated on the Chennai Egmore–Tiruchi section on electric traction. Southern Railway sources said that it would be difficult to operate all trains on the section under electric traction in the absence of a traction sub-station at Tiruchi. Though the sub-station was ready in all respects, the TNEB was to complete its transmission line works for extending 110 KV power supply. It has promised to complete the work by August 15. Thereafter, all the trains could be operated on electric traction. Hope to see Trichy - Madurai section on electrification works to be completed soon as well, and thus, help commuters at large ease travel between chennai and madurai via Trichy. ![]() http://www.hindu.com/2009/07/28/stor...2860420700.htm Last edited by maran; July 28th, 2009 at 04:25 AM. |

Five agri-clinics sanctioned for Trichy
TIRUCHI: To facilitate farmers to increase their agricultural productivity through a careful analysis of soil nutrients in their fields, the State Government has sanctioned five agri-clinics for Tiruchi district, Regional Joint Registrar of Co-operatives Rama. Jayampandian said.
Speaking at a ‘farmers meet’ organised jointly by the Indian Farmers’ Fertilisers Co-operative Limited (IFFCO), Tamil Nadu Cooperative Marketing Federation (TANFED) and the Tiruchi District Co-operative Union at the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Society at Anbil near Lalgudi recently, Mr. Jayampandian said that the clinics would function on the campus of the credit societies in Anbil, Valanaadu, Thulaiyanatham, Varadarajapuram and Natarajarapuram in the district. Two clinics have already been started at Anbil and Valanaadu and the remaining three will be started in course of time. He said that although farmers toiled for achieving higher productivity, their lack of interest in ascertaining the deficiency in the soil, its texture, excess or shortage of vital components was the major cause for the fall in yield. The official appealed to the farmers to analyse a few soil samples collected from their fields at the agri-clinics and strictly adhere to remedial measures. Chief Area Manager, IFFFCO, Tiruchi, B. Krishnan said that soil played a key role in stepping up agricultural productivity. Farmers should adapt their cropping pattern, if needed, in accordance with the nutrients of the soil in their fields. Right application of soil-specific and crop-specific fertilisers would be an added advantage. Seed Certification Officer, Lalgudi, Krishnamurthy, spoke on the importance of proper selection of seeds suited to a specific field. He suggested setting up of seed farms to meet the demand for quality seeds. Co-operative Sub-Registrar, Lalgudi, S. Mayandi and president of Uzhavar Mandram Sachidanandam were among those who spoke. Mathew Hayden likely to visit Tiruchi
Matthew Hayden is likely to visit Tiruchi. That ought to be great news for cricket buffs, especially aspiring cricketers of the Rock City.
According to Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) secretary K. S. Viswanathan, the former Australian opener plans to visit various districts in the State for identifying talent. “Possibly we will try to bring him to Tiruchi,” he said while addressing a gathering during the 51st annual day celebrations of the Tiruchi District Cricket Association (TDCA) here recently. Commending TDCA’s various initiatives to promote cricket in the district, Mr. Viswanathan observed that the 458 matches hosted by Tiruchi during 2008-09 was almost 50 per cent of what was conducted in Chennai. source:trichyportal. |
