From distance:

It's quite narrow and I thought it is a skywalk but then I saw a yellow launcher in the middle. Is it one way or 2 way.

simply great

there is a flyover at mulund coming up. Along the eastern express

also along thane, they are currently building the Station Area improvement scheme (Satis) which will extend to meena tai thakrey chowk. Not strictly a flyover, but more like an elevated highway used only by public transport buses.

Its a huge project for thane, so i would put a huge circle starting from thane station extending to the smaller circle in thane area.
I have added mulund flyover after google updated its images.

Regarding Satis, you mean this elevated road near Thane stn:

This one is near Borivali. It is a flyover cum ROB and lands at WEH.

Here is the close up of its junction with WEH where it meets with service road.

Here is the updated map. It includes under-construction projects also. Recent count is now 56 in Greater Mumbai + Thane

For the Sahar Elevated Access Road (SEAR), I think they need to go for the Y-shaped loop as we talked here before to provide better flow for the traffic going northbound.

Something like the following:

Something like the following:
According to post #327, it is Y shaped with north ramp landing before Andheri flyover on WEH and south ramp landing near T2.

I think ROBs dont land in the highway as it will affect the traffic flow in highway. A signal might be needed in that case. In case of service lanes, the vehicles can join slowly in the left as it happenns at various places across the highway now. In Mumbai, it is always North-South flow that is given imporatnce (over East -West).

There are service lanes in JVLR at stretches close to the flyovers. But JVLR could have been better with service lanes all along. In peak hours, the stretch between SEEPZ and WEH & Hiranandhani and LBS Marg is no diferent from the perennially choked Juhu Tara Road, with numerous signals.

so many flyovers along the eastern express way highway right upto south mumbai.

I dont think after all these are constructed that there will be any room left to expand the roads.

One thing I noticed while browsing through the Western Highway. It is signal free. Wherever there are traffic intersections, there are (mostly) flyovers. It is an excellent 8-lane road (4-way each way) plus 2 service lanes on each side. Some areas of the road are empty while some are packed with cars.

And at some sections it is even 10-12 laned. When I looked at WEH, the first thing which came to my mind was Delhi's ring road. Both are very similar - signal free, heavy traffic, some points are empty and some congested and both have almost similar lengths. And both are not fully access controlled (unlike DGE or MPE) so cannot be called expressways.

That is the masterplan. This figure means recently constructed + under construction + to be constructed flyovers. They may have also included ROB in this. I have scanned whole of Mumbai by google earth. There are around 6-7 flyover projects under construction and I have marked them all.

I have noticed one more thing about Mumbai's roads while using google earth. There are no underpasses (though there are some RUBs). Traffic situation can be improved by building cross underpasses on the crossings which have flyovers and are still congested on the surface. I believe that MMRDA should think of this.
