The new Suspension bridge built as part of the N25 Waterford bypass opened to traffic on Monday. The structure is 91m longer then the Boyne Suspension bridge and quite a bit taller and it's design is similar though the Suspension strings extend an equal distance from each side.

The bridge is 461m long and 100m tall.

It spans the River Suir.

Looks great.

Although it's not actually a suspension bridge. It's a cable stayed. I opened the thread expecting to see a suspension bridge. Nice nonetheless though.

This is impressive. We could do with a few of them up North.

This and the new M9 are really going to open up the whole of South East. The roads that they are replacing really turned me off heading down that direction and were completely shite. Fair play to Waterford - I'd say that new bridge is quite a sight!

Lovely bridge.... worth comparing it to the vile concrete ramp that runs across the middle of Belfast carrying the M3 motorway.
