Bergen - Hordaland

Profier AS held a competition for a new future apartment/shopping district in Bergen. WDW Arkitekter won the competition with their
proposal which includes a 14 floor tall highrise building. This project is divided into many stages of construction with start in 2011.
Everything will be completed 10-15 years after that, so this highrise building is in a very early stage of development, and we will
probably not hear much about this one for many years yet.

Oslo - Oslo

This is the final design of the reconstruction of Patologibygget at Oslo University College. Construction will start in early 2010 with completion in
2012. The building is 40m tall with 10 floors and will room the administration on the college and a
auditorium with 500 seats. Designed by Lund+Slaatto Arkitekter.

LinkSignatur won a competition to design the new stadium at Helsfyr in Oslo. They have included a at least 80m tall highrise in this project. Its
design will most likely change a lot, and consider it to be in a very early stage of development.

A new government office building been built in Oslo. Its 45m tall with 12 floor and will hold 440 working places. Construction started in 2009 and
completion is expected in early 2012. Architect is Ba Arkitekter AS.

A 13 floor apartment building proposed in a new city district in Bryne. It was proposed together with a car-shop. The
car shop was approved and is been completed in 2010. The developers is still awaiting a decision about the highrise
from the local authorities.

Alna - Oslo

An 80 meters and 20 floors office building is proposed withinn the Narud Stokke og Wiig masterplan of Alnabru freight terminal. There have been several alternatives, one of the citys main concern is how to best uncover the Alna river flowing trough the area. The terminal will be built gradually and the tower might not be built before 2020. This highrise is very likely to be approved as both the government and citys alternatives includes it.

Grünerløkka - Oslo

A 13 floor extension and reclad of Anker Hotel in reflective glass designed by Siv.ark Frank Kalfoss is well under construction, the plot is regulated for adding 3 floors to the existing building, but the developer chose not to pursuit this.

Grünerløkka - Oslo

A 20 floor tower has been proposed by Lof architects and Hasle utvikling masterplan for Haslelinje - the old site of vinmonopolet who is moving out of the city in 2012, and developmentstage for this plot is envisioned to last untill 2020, where the tower is set for 2nd construction stage. The development also includes a 12 floor tower, development is planned to include appartments, shops and offices.

Prostneset in Tromsø is just about to start construction. However, the 12 floor tall hotel designed by Space Group who won the competition with
their masterplan for the site in 2002 has been dropped.

Sandefjord - Vestfold

A 36m, 11 floor tall apartment building designed by HRTB. It was first proposed in Niels Torp's masterplan for Kilen Brygge, a larger
harbourfront development project in Sandefjord. This highrise was approved, but the developers decided to drop the highrise in
early 2009. However, in August same year they changed their mind. This building is expected to be completed in 2012.

assuming youve actually been to åsane, what was it that you found so uncosy about it?

i mean, its just any other norwegian suburb with mostly family homes.. id say certain parts of åsane are pretty cosy.

well, you are aware that in recent years the entire åsane senter has been refurbished, right?

IMO it looks fabulous the way it is now, and i really cant see any aspects of it that id descrive as uncosy.

more and more new building are coming up in the area, though.. i think this is the most recent one http://www.bygg.no/id/45013

i think åsane senter is a great place i can understand that arken looked rather crap before it got its facelift.
