I most certainly agree. Here is what's planned; they have already started on the northeast side. Parkside Village will definitely help in shifting the focus of the perceived "city core" from Square One to Parkside Village and the Daniels community but time will tell.

Does anyone have an idea of when construction is gonna start? Everytime I drive by, there is this Bulldozer standing in the middle of the field but it doesn't look like they're actually doing something productive... Thought Tower1 is already sold out, so what are they waiting for? Winter??

This project is promising, but haven't seen any sign of construction at all. I hope it encourages sustainable living and creates a true downtown locale. I would hate to see it turn into another one of those false promises that I've noticed. New residential buildings need to dedicate their entire first floor to commercial usage to kick start creating a true livable city centre. I am not pleased with what it looks like right now. I can't wait to see what will happen in the future if the concept of livability is embraced in the MCC.

After a long wait hopefully construction will start in November and it turns out to be what they are promoting; it definitely looks promising. I'm not sure if every residential building should have ground level retail/commercial but where it makes sense, it should. Apart from Parkside, other buildings that will have ground level retail/commercial includes Chicago, Widesuites, and Absolute 4 and 5. Other newer projects that have ground level retail/commercial include Capital Towers, Citygate and Solstice; I think the Tridel buildings along Burnhamthorpe with the exception of Ultra should have had something put in i.e. restaurants, cafes and shops. Being across the street from City Hall it would have been perfect, the outdoor patios would have been great! It's too bad really...

Well, I went to the Parkside Village sales office yesterday and found out that construction is still scheduled to start in November. Tower 1 and podium is scheduled to be completed in summer of 2011 and tower 2 and podium in spring of 2012; no date was provided as to when tower 3 will be released.
