I'm not sure how my entry got put before Yellow Fever's first post but it has something to do with mirror servers delay. Anyhow, here is my 2 cents:
Good! Why treat multi-million dollar athletes to special status, and allow them to push in front of the people who really need the vaccine? What kind of man would want to push his way in the lineup?????!??!?!? If they want it so badly they can go home to the States to a private clinic and buy it.

Health Official Fired Over Flames Special Flu Vaccine
Health Official Fired Over Flames Special Flu Vaccine
Source: The Canadian Press Posted: 11/04/09 4:28PM EDMONTON - Alberta Health Services says it has fired a senior staff member over the Calgary Flames swine flu vaccine controversy. The board, which reports directly to the Alberta government, won't name who has been dismissed, but says it was wrong to give the hockey players and their families preferential treatment. Members of the Calgary Flames NHL team were given swine flu shots at a special clinic last Friday as thousands of people waited in line for the vaccine or were turned away. The revelation angered many people who have criticized Alberta's swine flu vaccine rollout, which was plagued by long lineups before it was shut down Saturday. Ken Hughes, the board's chairman, says an investigation continues and could lead to further disciplinary action against other staff. Hughes says people should receive health services based on medical priority. ************************************************************** No wonder there is no sick players on their hockey team! |

Something to do with mirror servers and a time delay. I've heard it explained a few times in the mods section, but I didn't really grasp it. Oddly, I tried to delete my entry so I could put it under yours, and when I tried doing that, the whole thread got deleted! So, I just left it the goofy way it is!

The Leafs got preferential treatment too, but were told to keep their mouths shut when the media asked them about it. One of the players looked to staff for direction when questioned by CBC and responded, 'no comment'.
Do these people have no integrity or morals? I don't care what head office told them, they knew they were queue jumping and putting themselves before the most vulnerable in society. They should be ashamed of themselves. Just like in Alberta, someone at Ontario Health needs to get fired over this. This is disgusting.

There are various servers that you can connect to and access the site from. Sometimes, those servers get their times out of sync, and submit posts at the same time but with incorrect time stamps. The database will collect the posts and display them in order of time stamp, and that time stamp is based on when the post was made not archived in the database. So they appear out of order.
As for this: Do they even really need it? |

I agree with isaidso... it is disgusting and they should be ASHAMED of themselves for pushing their way to the front of the line.
