I really appreciate your efforts, Docentx, but without any kind of offense meant i just have to say that you post WAY TOO MANY pictures. Try to settle for more important buildings and post less, but more impressive pictures.

Hey whatever... thanks for pics. I am assuming that they know what the original frescoes of the Church of St. Francis look like or are they only restoring portions of frescoes? should look amazing in any case. Really have to visit Vilnius soon.

A lot is being done in Krakow, Zamosc, Wroclaw, Elblag and some in Gdansk, Poznan but where it is really lacking in Warsaw given how much was lost. I think a new wave of reconstruction will start with Saski around 2012 - right now infrastructure and Euro and dealing with global economic crisis are the priority it seems. The problem in Warsaw is also that the current conservator takes years to review single projects, but I could be wrong. All the best. |

Germany has rebuilt its cities after the war in the modern style and Poland has rebuilt its cities with the old style like they were before the 2nd World War ! You don't even realize how wrong you are. Poland has lots of cities, as well as Germany, that needs lots of reconstruction work to be done.

Yes, that is true, but what Angelika is saying is that we need to appreciate how much POland has done to reconstruct historic cities in the original form. And yes, you are right too in that much more needs to be done.
