Overrated Houston!
Houston is actually a very overrated city. I've gone 3 times in the past few years. It is very industrial and ugly, full of rude drivers, and needs better zoning. What I mean by this is that nothing really good is going on outside the advertised areas and there is literally mansions next to ugly neighborhoods and buisnesses smack dab in the middle of them too. Galveton is very ugly too(and hurricane Ike didn't help any) with dirty oily shark infested waters and poor zoning also. Oh yahh! I forgot to mention the pesky jellyfish and crumbling infrastructure. And for all you thrill seekers out there, six flags astroworld closed and the city doesn't have much to offer. The sports teams suck too. It's just a phoney bunch of misleading propaganda.

Nice Thread Jack. Great to see that harmonious Dallas - Houston relationship is going so well. I haven't been to Houston in about 15 years -- maybe I'll have to go and check it out again. I've heard its downtown area is doing pretty well.

"Overrated Houston", says the Dallas resident.
How about i start a thread named "Pretentious Dallas". Why don't you start a blog, instead? Because your negative comments aren't going to hinder Houston's growth. Lack of zoning is what has made everything accessible, to the point where we dont have to drive 5 miles to "town centers". Personally, i like the mansions/next to "working-class" neighborhoods. Its what makes Houston diverse, something Dallas isnt. Anyways, enough of my ranting, i wont think that much of someone's ignorant opinion.

I don't even live in Dallas, go ahead loser that's proud to be from pasadena
. I live in the suburbs and I really don't care. I wasn't born in Dallas, never lived in Dallas, and still think Houston is really unatractive. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Been to pasedena too, dirty air(dirty city also), multiple eye-sore oil refineries, and nothing good going on, just ashamed that it is a texas city.

WTF? Is this really a topic? I've been to Houston 5 or 6 times, and I love it. Houston's got a gorgeous skyline that spans seemingly forever. Good restaurants, shopping, bars, etc. Nice neighborhoods. I've never really had anything bad to say about Houston - it's one of my favorite places to visit when I travel on business.
