The base looks a lot better there than in the gaudy renderings we've seen before.

The "base" and the tower are being done by 2 different companies...thats why they look different...because they are.

If you get a chance, go see the wreckage of the old Convention Center while the pyramids are still (mostly) intact. Surreal.

A few quick snaps of the Convention Center wreckage last week. I'd imagine they've cleared a lot more away by now.

Wow, all the condo development in Charlotte is impressive. The Epicenter project looks great. I wish Flaherty & Collins would build something as nice in their hometown

I assume these are going to be condo towers. They are called the Citidan at fourth ward square. I have tried to find their actual website but had no luck. Anyway, heres the link.

http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/cx/?id=111832

Also, it looks like the Vue is moving up....even taller. Looking like 58 stories now.

In case that link does not work. The Citidan towers will have 2 10 story towers, and two 22 story towers. (just copy and paste the link, I tried to do it the right way but it did not work)

I heard about the increase on the other board of course...lol. Few of the posters over there visited the sales office and found that the vue will be taller. I can't help myself. lol

Plus, I think more info about Charlotte should be posted over here. Charlotte has no representation over here lately. Skyscraper city goes out to a larger audience to.

Nobody posted anything over here about the Wachovia/Wells Fargo rumors either.

Well, the great news is overwhelming and there is always a chance that Charlotte forumers need to catch their breath. Personally, I always visit these threads for inspiration... Charlotte's leaders have a great vision for their city, which is why projects like the Vue can happen. Of course, there is always a chance this tower may "steal" some business from other proposed residential high-rises, but I am confident in developers delivering what they "promised".

Where did you hear about the height increase? Where is it verified?
