WUHAN | Gezhouba International Plaza | 350m, 69 floors. Under construction – Ground works. Architect: Kling Stubbins. Developer: Gezhouba Group. Approved in March 2008. Construction works started in September that year. Project thread.

I've found a proposal from 2006 at the same website. Qingdao Haitian Hotel, 338.8m. I can't find news about this, so it's probably just a stale proposal. I wont include it in the lists.

I like the final design for it being the first super tall of Wuhan, otherwise the former design looks better for its uniqueness.

CHONGQING | Lanko International Mansion | 330m, 72 floors. Under construction – Rising. Developer: Lanko Group. This skyscraper has been revised upwards for several times since it was started in 1998. During these revisions, it remained on hold for several long periods. Finally, in 2007 the project was purchased by Lanko Group and the final design was released. Construction was resumed in late 2008. Project thread.

TIANJIN | Tianjin TEDA Towers | 358m, 80 floors. Approved. Architect: Atkins. Planned in Binhai New Area, this weird design by Atkins is the result of a competition for a landmark project to be located in TEDA. The rejected designs were presented by SOM, Portman, SBA and Nikken Sekkei. Construction is scheduled to be started in 2009. Project thread.

In September they announced that this tower would be revised upwards to 455m. They had the ground breaking ceremony today. Final height: 530m and 96 floors. But they changed the whole design too. No info about the architect and no good rencers yet, sorry. Developer: Chow Tai Fook Group. Name: Chow Tai Fook Binhai Center.

The design of this 1,600 foot tall tower was shaped by the city’s recent history. As an important port in Northern China, the city was strongly affected by western influences in the last 150 years. This contributed to the great diversity in the culture and high level of sophistication only a few port cities in China shared.

The tower subtly illustrates the confluence and interrelationships between these various influences. Starting at the hexagonal base, this beautiful form has a strong directional twist. To counteract the arbitrary direction two towers twisted in opposite directions. The result shows exceptional beauty and grace. The 12 sweeping arcs intersect at 3 points along the height of the tower
