How would you even know? It's not your city and it's not your square - so why are you so concerned?

This is a Louis Kahn designed building!! Possibly one of the most important architects of the 20th century.

I'm not too concerned by this poll. It's run by Virtual Tourist (who?) and posted on news.com.au (the news source for the ill-informed Australian).

I don't understand how the Pyeongyang Hotel can be listed, how many tourists actually go to North Korea anyway??

The survey is so unbelievably base and uneducated that its cringeworthy. Some of the building's on that list are masterpieces. Centre Pompidou!!

You can't buy that kind of marketing.

Ugly = outside the square

Besides, to be on that "Subjective" list means Fed Square at least provokes discussion - which most of todays boring and conforming buildngs fail to do, alas.

I love this list! Particularly the Petrobras building in Rio. It is disgusting. As a matter of fact, Brazilian cities are full of ugly things...

When I took my dad to Melb last year, the first time he saw Fed Square he kept going on about what a piece of crap it was. After a few days of walking past it and stopping to soak up the atmosphere and watch the street performers there, he had changed his mind. He both loved the public space and had a much greater appreciation of the architecture and how the whole thing came together.

I would imagine that a lot of people would be the same way, and would dislike Fed Square if they hadn't actually experienced it.

I don't think Fed square is ugly but it is not beautiful for me. The list is garbage and i wouldn't even give it a second thought. Most on the list are very nice designs (the library needs a clean up that's all).

Fed square is functional and has proven to do its purpose extremely well. But if i was to comment on the design; the overwhelming feeling i got was it just tried way too hard. I guess i like my designs simple and elegant and it's the exact opposite. At worst it felt barren and souless.

Ultimately though it does evoke discussion and that for me is a sign of a good design regardless of what i think of it. For me though a truly great design is one that is undeniably loved by all.

I found that it grows on you after a while. Was a bit funny about it in the first place, but as time went on, gradually began to accept it more and more.
