BOGOTÁ, The Capital Of Colombia. ¡Get Seduced!

In this thread I'll show you pics of Bogotá, which is the capital of Colombia and our main city. I hope you do Get Seduced by it and enjoy yourselves by looking at the pictures



Here's some interesting data of the city:

Location: Southamerica - Colombia - Cundinamarca
Metro Population: 8.361.000 inh. (2008)
Average Temperature: 14ºC - 52ºF (All year long; Colombia has no seasons)
Elevation: 2640m - 8,661 ft
Foundation: August 6, 1538 AD
HDI: 0.904 (20011)

MONSERRATE HILL: It rises to 3,152 metres (10,341 ft) above the sea level. In the top of it there is a church, a restaurant and an observation deck.

LA CANDELARIA: historic neighborhood in downtown Bogotá. The architecture of the old houses, churches and buildings has mainly Spanish Colonial and Baroque styles.

ZONA ROSA:cool zone full of nice stores, restaurants, malls, pubs and discos; probably the best night life in the city.












CENTRO INTERNACIONAL: Downtown Bogotá.









The skyline, far away. Pretty old pic, but it's still kind of nice.


Transmilenio


Plaza de Bolivar/ Bolivar Square. This is the main sqare in the city and it has very important buildings such as the Palace of Justice, the Supreme Court, the Colombian Congress, the National Capitol, Liévano building (the seat for Bogota's Mayor), the Primate Cathedral and Casa de Nariño (Presidential Palace).



Alcaldía de Bogotá/Bogotá Town Hall (Palacio de Lievano/Lievano Palace)


Capitolio Nacional/National Capitol


Casa de Nariño/Presidential Palace



Parque Simón Bolivar/Simon Bolivar Park. The largest metropolitan park in Colombia, with over 600 acres.





Jardín Botánico/Botanical Garden. 19,5 acres





Parque de la Independencia/Independence Park





TEUSAQUILLO/CHAPINERO: Extended Downtown. British/german looking districts .Historically upper-class districts but nowadays middle class ones.

































NORTHERN BOGOTÁ: the nortern side of the city is where most of the welthiest neighborhoods are located.

excelent thread, the most that i like about "tabogo" it's the variety of architecture, due to the diversity cultural people that came from different parts of the world after the second w.w! ( it's a hint).
