I could tell you that Bahraini people are obsessed with Turkish TV series! "Gumus" and another one that I forgot.

You'll find a lot of Bahrainis' who are quite fond of Turkey, this was apparent through Turkey's Euro 2008 campaign.... I saw Bahrainis' support Turkey as if bahrain were playing..

Anyway welcome to Bahrain!

Well... Have u ever been to the gulf before, so that we might compare...?

Bahrain is very easy going.. Your wife won't find any problems... Being a women... And... How much money's enough.. Hmm.. Tough question... Money, aside from accomodation.... And, with a family of two? No Children...

I dunno what 'standards of living' u will expect or want to have... But i would say u will need a MINIMUM of 2,000 Euro... (2 persons, aside from accomodation costs).. Just answering for the sake of answering, so that u might have an idea...

So what kind of business or company r u planning on establishing!?

I think 1500 Euro a month will be enough if you live in a good standard one bedroom flat in a good place like Juffair and don't eat out at fancy resturants or go to night clubs often and rent a resnable car, but if you do like going out often then start from 2000 Euro as B-P said.

Thanks everybody for advise...

I want to answer all questions.I have never been visit Gulf before Neither working Nor holiday.
My company is a rework center.Mechanical or Electronical defectives parts are received, then they will be repaired like as new and shipped to their country.
Also we have to find local workers who are electronic or mechanic technicians.By the way I want to ask Does anybody know what is the average standart wages for local workers in Bahrain?
My company was accepted to pay my house rental price and My wages is 2250 USD per month.I think it is enough as per replies

Now I want to some question about social life in Bahrain;

* What is the criminal rate?Do you trip in street safely? What is your comment..
* What is the trade in social life, what are the differences between past and now?
* What do you think about for future...

And again thank u very much for replies

Well... Wages depends... Their not great in general.. The minimum is about 600 dollars... I think (it was raised to 200BD, right guys??)...

THe social life is very easy going... Nice... There are some nice malls... A couple of nice brand new amusement type parks... Really good cinemas all over.. A cute bowling centre with an ice-rink... GREAT resturaunts of absolutely all cuisines!!

Alcohol is abundant... Not like in the 'west'.. But its not exactly hard to find either..

Some nice lounges.. Pubs... Some alright nightclubs...

That sums up the social life... There are some more touristy thingy's i didn't mention..

Its all good.. its nice... Can be great.. As long as u make frends with the right people... A nice and fun crowd..

Only thing is it might get a bit boring after a while (a year?) cuz its a small (but growing) country afterall..

Crime is not a big issue... Dunno about a rate.. But, its not really an issue... As long as ur not stupid... Or don't go wandering into some creepy little rundown village in a brandnew mercedes (with a saudi license plate)... haha...

Future prospects are good... Mostly..

2250 USD sounds about alright.. I'm not sure what ur lifestyle is like now.. How extravagant or whatever... But u'll adjust one way or another in Bahrain.. Its not a particularly expensive country... Accomodation is the only real expense u need to worry about, and if ur company is paying it, then ur good to go...

More and more 'expats' are slowly discovering bahrain i think... How 'cosy' and comfortable life here can be... A lot of expats, and Lebanese in particular i've noticed seem to be moving from the Eastern part of Saudi to Bahrain... Even if they work in Saudi, but they like to live in Bahrain and cross the bridge everyday, its worth it.. As long as ur not a rigid type person.. As long as ur flexible.. With realistic expectations, u will find Bahrain to be a nice place...

you might not be an engineer, but you might like to read this article.

Quote:
Middle East: Engineers prefer Bahrain and Oman

Bahrain and Oman are the best places in the Middle East for engineers to live and work, a survey published this week claimed.
Bahrain also topped a poll of the best work locations worldwide.

Analysis of feedback from more than 500 engineers who have lived and worked in the region since 2003 shows that the Gulf's smallest states have the best quality of life.

The survey was conducted by recruitment consultant EPC Global. Results show that 88% of engineers who have worked in Bahrain would recommend it to other professionals.

This compares to 76% for Abu Dhabi and 73% for Dubai.

Compared to findings from engineers working in other parts of the world these states still score highly. 83% of engineers who have worked in Australia recommended it as a place to live. The UK scored just 61%.

Bahrain ranked highly thanks to its low living expenses, plentiful accommodation and relaxed lifestyle.

Oman's culture counted strongly in its favour. "Oman is a great place to live," said EPC Global operations manager Joe Rothwell.

"The culture is different [from other Gulf states]. The locals are more active in the day to day workings of business and are much more hands on. It makes for a better working and social
environment," he said.

Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also won praise for its healthcare facilities and suitability for expatriate families.

The poll findings are good news for UK consultants and contractors seeking to boost staff numbers in the region.

Firms such as Scott Wilson and Parsons Brinckerhoff are looking to triple staff numbers within the next five years.

"The region is a very, very dynamic market at the moment with some very big projects taking off. Staff demand is high," said Rothwell.

Some Middle East states did not score so well, however. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran and Iraq all came in for criticism.

Saudi Arabia was singled out for its poor leisure amenities with only 18% of those who had worked in the region being satisfied with them. Only 17% of engineers were satisfied with the abilities of their local colleagues.

Unsurprisingly Iran and Iraq scored low on criteria such as security, acceptance among locals, and the provision of basic infrastructure.

But Iran was rated highest in terms of the proficiency of local staff with 56% of engineers being satisfied with the competence of their colleagues.

Qatar was considered the worst performing state among engineers for its health and safety procedures with only 31% happy with the standards in place.

what about job opportunities in Bahrain

Some of my relatives are working in Bahrain, I ask about the job opportunities in there but they replied now there is no company hiring pupils from other country and recruiting process is going only in Bahrain itself. If I get any information about job opportunities in Bahrain that help me to start my career there.

Why you are asking like this, are you learned everything directly without going to school or university. I just asked about whether the hiring process is now currently going in bahrain or not. If you know then reply instead dont ask unreasonable questions.

lol he wasn't trying to be rude. he thought you were a student looking for a job.

Quote:
pupil: a person, usually young, who is learning under the close supervision of a teacher at school, a private tutor, or the like; student.
but your right hiring is at a freeze at most companies; and if they are looking to hire they would look for a person in bahrain first (not necessarily bahraini) just because its cheaper.
