No doubt...congolese Music has influenced Most of East Africa ..or at least Kenya where 70% or so of Music on Kenya Broadcastic Corporation swahili(the most listened and widest countrywide coverage) is congolese. This was even worse in the past when there was hardly any swahili Music.
I remember the only word I understood was "mama" (if the Music contained it). The funny thing is that Nobody understands the Language. It is like listening to Chinese Music.Even the likes of Kanda Bongo man would come and pull mega crowds..yet nobody knows what he is singing. But the signature dance style of their Music has prevailed. So, when I watch and listen to this music, I feel like I am at home. |

I don't understand how other countries find Knda Bongo Man, Arius Mabele really good. these guys are unknown in Kongo. even Awilo is unknown, they never even hold a concert in Kongo because no one know them. it's funny. |

Nice song, but Olivia is Black American NOT Congolese!!! Is this (American rap) the new KONGO music? Stop copying! First, Cuba/Haiti/Martinique now USA! Get your own music!!!
