"Splendour of Night - Bank of China Tower Exterior Lighting Photo Competition" Now Inviting Entries

Bank of China (Hong Kong) has brought new glitter to Hong Kong's night skyline with the addition of exterior lighting to the Bank of China Tower ("BOC Tower") since the end of last year. It is now inviting the general public to join the "Splendor of Night – BOC Tower Exterior Lighting Photo Competition", to enliven the unique architectural characteristics of the building and bring new perspective to this majestic landmark in the heart of Hong Kong through the eyes of a camera.

Entries to be submitted should feature the BOC Tower, as illuminated by the exterior lighting of the building. Entrants may assign a title (Chinese or English) to each photographic image submitted of a different lighting pattern outlining the building. The competition is open to all Hong Kong citizens of any age. All entries will be judged by a panel of judges comprising professional photographers from Hong Kong. There will be one winner, one first runner-up and one second runner-up nominated. Each will receive a cash prize of HK$10,000, HK$8,000 and HK$5,000, respectively, in addition to a commemorative trophy. There will also be 30 Merit Award winners, each receiving a cash prize of HK$1,000 and a certificate of merit. All award winners and their partner will be invited by BOCHK to enjoy a fireworks display at 70/F BOC Tower.

Prize winners will be announced on BOCHK's website www.bochk.com and in newspapers in November 2005, with details to be published later. Award winners will also be notified individually. All winning entries will be exhibited at the Lobby of Bank of China Tower, and compiled in a photo album for publication.

Entries will be accepted up to 12 October 2005, and should be sent by post to Corporate Communications Division, Chief Executive's Office, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, 13/F Bank of China Tower, 1 Garden Road, Hong Kong in an envelope labeled "BOC Tower Exterior Lighting Photo Competition".
