HONG KONG [15] A Bus Ride Through Kowloon's Streets

KMB's Route 8 travels between Kowloon MTR Station and the Star Ferry terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui. It traverses a lot of interesting streetscapes in Kowloon, rising to the hillside mansions in Ho Man Tin and descending back to the poorer and older areas of Kowloon, with a connection to the KCR at Hung Hom Station.

Fare : HK$4.20 (US$0.54)
Journey Time : 60 minutes
Distance : 11.1 km
Information : http://www.kmb.hk/english.php?page=s...php&route_no=8
Frequency : 11 minutes during peak hours; 20 minutes during off-peak hours

Departing Kowloon MTR Station, with Sorrento anchoring the north end of the station.

The density quickly tapers off as the older districts take over, back when there was a height restriction due to the Kai Tak Airport approach.

Everywhere in Hong Kong, there are huge signs!

Everywhere in Hong Kong, there are double decker buses!

Since Hong Kong's bus routes offer point-to-point service, each route will serve a number of streets to reach its destination. Hence bus stops are segregated by number to prevent overcrowding.

wow thanks this is just great! Nathan road is amazing, those gold busses fit in so well...

Next time I'm in HK I have to do many things! Maybe I should make a list allready. Taking a bus along Nathan Road is one of the must do things... day and night.
