Airline Empires
A free (and very addictive) online browser-based game. Been playing it for 3-4 weeks now, and yeah, can't stop, must make CASH-MONEY.
The aim is pretty simple: build an airline empire. You start with a turbro prop, select a HQ which gives you 5 gates to begin with and start you start flying routes to make cash-money-farking. You can start hubs which allows you to get connecting traffic from all our routes which fly into the hub (you need to control 5 gates to start a hub - and as you start with 5 at your HQ/first base you can build one pretty soon afterwards). The time element of the game works on the basis that 1 day = 30 minutes in real world time and there are 24 days in a month (so for every 1 real world day you go through 2 "game" months). If anyone's interested, I'm happy to start an OzScrapers "alliance" (like a real world airline alliance - your alliance partners give you connecting traffic if you fly into their hubs) and we can rape and pillage the world!!!1!. A word of advice on the start up base: Australia & New Zealand is saturated (as it's technically beta, they're adding new airports all the time and I'm working on them increasing Australian and New Zealand demand), pick a Chinese or European city: massive demand and very short hops to different airports, so the DHC-7 you start with can make a lot of cash if you pick routes which have no competition. Build a short-haul network in China / Europe first then start building an international network - once you get 10 or so long-haul destinations the cash really starts rolling in. good start up candidates: WUH Wuhan XMN Xiamen HGH Hangzhou KMG Kunming PIK Glasgow Prestwick CIA Rome Ciampino BVA Paris Beauvais you start with $5mil, which is enough to lease a few jets (320s and 734s are the latest short-haul jets in the game) - always lease for 10 years (cheaper monthly rent) and eventually you can buy them which then adds to your airline value & therefore your ranking. Sign up (free - takes them a day to open your account): http://aetest.simulationcloud.net/newuser.php When you sign up / login - go for "SIM2-Beta" - it's the Simulator that is constantly being developed. The others are static and no where near as feature rich Me (imaginative name, I know ): http://aetest.simulationcloud.net/pl...p?player=24639

just had a look at that, and on the face of it, it's shite compared to AE - nowhere near as many features.
AE: get on it.

I've been playing AM since January, and my airline has basically hit the end of the road. I have 520 or so A380s and there is nothing more to aim for

Tays - if you have an iPhone you'd probably enjoy AirTycoon.
Alot of it is balancing sheets, etc.. but its a lot of fun if you find that kind of strategy interesting. If anyone hasn't played it, i would HIGHLY recommend you get ahold of the 1990's game TRANSPORT TYCOON. It's amazing. You can build a transport empire with air, rail, road and sea modes. It's SO addictive and even though its over a decade old, the game play is still high quality.

I used to play the Facebook one. It got pretty crap and boring after a while so I stopped using it, even tho my L2 Interpacific AIrlines was successful
It also sucked badly that the timing was, umm, REAL time. If i clicked on to send an A380 on a flight, I'd literally have to wait 18 hours until I could login again and make more money. Useless ![]() So I'll take a look at this one esp the time thing sounds appealing.

I'm about to sign up to it, it sounds pretty cool. I thought the thread was about airline empires such as Delta or Emirates, this is much better

Indictable are you Cantabrian? if you are, you're not going to make money in CHC.
other good first bases: CCU - Kolkata ZAG - Zagreb SGN - Ho Chi Minh CSX - Changsha <-- highly recommended, right in the centre of the south east corner of China and no-one currently has a hub there. CGO - Zhengzhou When you join the alliance, post where you're going to do a hub in here and I'll give you the routes into my hubs... currently: MEL - Melbourne ADL - Adelaide CKG - Chongqing DOH - Doha EDI - Edinburgh HHN - Frankfurt Hahn OGG - Kahului OAK - San Francisco/Oakland BTR - Baton Rouge PIT - Pittsburg UIO - Quito.

Australian Airways: CKG-KMG is yours, just started MEL-KMG & OAK-KMG and you'll be getting connecting traffic from them now.
Victorian Airways: EDI-BVA is yours, just took my DOH-BVA flights to daily and you'll be getting connecting traffic from that now.
