Pac-10 (12) football title game location
Discussing the a new potential Big Ten title game in over the Midwest section has me wondering what is going to go down in the Pac-10 (12) in terms of a title game. Where or what rotation do you think it would be used to have a Pac-10 title game? Picking a site raises some challenges from the Big-10 in that the colleges are more spread out from each other but that also makes dividing conferences and a rotation easier. Some possibilities I can think of................
- Annually in L.A. at one of the classics (Rose Bowl or Colosseum) or perhaps the new L.A. stadium in the near future - Annually at Glendale, Az. Stadium - Rotation between the two modern NFL stadiums in the conference Glendale/Phoenix and Seattle Qwest. (I would also include Denver but it is rather remote to hold the game) - Rotation between Bay metro (north conference) and LA metro (south conference) - Have team with the best record hold the game - Have a college stadium host it on a rotation basis Also I see the conferences likely breaking down one of two ways........ scenario 1 1. Oregon schools (2), Washington Schools (2), Utah, Colorado 2. Cali Schools (4), Arizona schools (2) scenario 2 1. Oregon schools (2), Wash schools (2), Cal/Stanford (2) 2. UCLA/USC (2), Arizona (2), Utah, Colorado

I picked the option of the best record hosting at its own stadium (though I don't know why it's listed twice)

So let's say in the Pac 10 it's WSU and Utah. Er, how about ASU and Colorado. Er, maybe we don't really need a championship game.
Or suppose the Rose Bowl got stuck with Utah vs. Minnesota, while SC met OSU or Michigan in some other bowl. I think we have to get over the "championship" thing and let people see the teams they really want to see. |
