Great pictures Jarrad. Makes the city look very clean and beautiful and shows a very nice variety of old and new. Loving the current building-boom. Increasing density at an alarming rate.

What were you standing on in that first photo Jarkti? At Mt Lawley train station? Or did you just zoom in from up the hill?

Some great skyline shots in the first posts - thats a pretty awesome angle in the second pic - great height and density. That could be the Perth equivilant to the Chifley Talls Club or Riverside in Brisbane, especially when BHP grows up.

And some really nice street level shots in the second post. Although I thought you threw a Brisbane one in there at first. I know the designs are pretty much the same but I didn't realise QV1 had excatly the same awning as Riverside & Riparian as well! Seems a bit lazy of Harry

We have to see more Perth only photo threads. Very comprehensive.

I feel the tourist guides tend to ignore the city's smaller streets and laneways though. Here on the east coast, your lucky if there is something about it.

Great to see some of the more historic buildings as well as the skyscapers.

From my walk yesterday.

I walked through Hyde Park to the southern side of the park and crossed over Glendower Street and Walked all the way down Lake Street to Aberdeen Street, I walked down Aberdeen Street to William Street and walked south to James Street and crossed over William Street and I walked over to the State Libary.

I then walked back to William Street and Continued to walked south on William Street to Road Street.

And that was my walk through that area, and to be completly honest I now understand why so many people love Northbridge

awesome photos
my sis lives in perth... have never bothered to visit as it's so far away and expensive to get over there - but having seen these photos the idea seems a bit more attractive!

Thank you very much, Perth is a lovely city
It is expensive to get here, if you live far away
and also when you get here to stay is fairly expensive, thats if you stay in a hotel (and can get into one).

We welcome all the tourists we can get though.

great shots! makes me think how pretty perth really is. on the topic of walking though, ive noticed that almost all footpaths in and around the city are paved - with aesthetics definitely in mind. most suburban paths are paved too and even road islands at intersections whereas some other australian cities opt for the road coloured bitumen. the worst we seem to do is cement and coloured bitumen - but even that looks neat. im glad our planners see this detail as being integral to the overall effect.

Perth really has no asphalt footpaths anywhere, city and in the burbs.
