Some good photos, I visited recently and Took photos of a lot of the same buildings. The extension to the council offices (95) next to the fire station changes colour at night but i did not have my camera at that time. The yellow Dunes store is now just a facade and the block to the left of it most has gone as a massive new Mixed use retail / residential is under construction through to the Arts building behind ( next to the opera house.
Is there a General Republic of Ireland Thread ?

Wow, the Dunnes Stores is just a facade now? wow, good that they didn't demolish the whole thing, I liked that building a lot.
I haven't been in Cork for about 3 months now, but I'm coming back to visit pretty soon so I'll have the chance to see it live. Anyway, you breaning back the thread reminded me that I still have some photos to post

I was totally surprised by that Dunnes Stores demolition, while visited Cork during Easter this year. It's nice that they left the facade though. They did that with many other bulidings in Cork, as far as I remember. Everytime I visit this lovely city, I really do appreciate how nice it is and how many good examples Lodz could take from them to become a place to be called "city" - and to become the 2016 European Capital of Culture, as Cork held that title in 2005. Lets just look at St. Patricks Str. and Grand Parade or Oliver Plunket Str., lets look at the Old English Market, lets look at the Cork International Airport... Dreams, dreams, dreams...
