130-140 km/h on a good quality rural motorway. In Germany maybe 150-160, which is often the average speed when there's no limit..

80-90 on a regular 1+1; a little higher on 2+1, 1x1 higher-quality roads and when there's little traffic. I try to always respect the limit (and slower, depending on conditions) in built up areas; they're there for a reason.

Fastest ever: Probably around 170-180 (in Germany), which is a little scary in a tiny Fiat

130km/h, GPS-measured (my car's speedometer shows something like 140km/h), so exactly as fast as the ministry's experts deem to be safe

About 165km/h in my parent's Mazda 6. It was legal though, German autobahns FTW

I don't drive much on motorways, but when I do 140 is fine.

I live in north Sweden where AADT is pretty low on normal highways. If speedlimit is 90 I usually drive 110-120. If speed limit is 100 I'll go 120-130.
On 2+1 stretches with divider I'll go 130 always.

I usually drive around 70-80MPH on the open Freeways and 60-70MPH on the rural multi lane highways and the Portland Freeways depending on traffic, 55-60mph on the two lane highways. Speed limits here are 65MPH on Rural Freeways and 55MPH on Urban Freeways and other rural roads unless posted lower.
Fastest was 110MPH on I-5 Between Wilsonville and Woodburn south of Portland on a Sunday morning when there was no traffic.

Which is your 'cruising' speed on a motorway?

In Poland and other countries it's usually 150-160km/h, in Germany it's 180km/h if the traffic is not so bad.

What about a normal 1+1 highway?

90-110km/h.

How fast have you ever gone on a motorway?

210km/h, German A2.

I know I drive way too fast and I'm probably going to regret it sooner or later.

The fastest I ever drove myself was 250 Km/h on the Autobahn (A5 southbound near frankfurt) in my dads Audi A8 when we bought it used, to check if it really has the electronic speed limiter active as it's supposed to. But that was the usual once in a lifetime check how fast the car goes.

I generally respect speed limits and hardly ever get a speeding ticket (only twice in 14 years so far). In my old VW Golf I usually drive 50 Km/h in cities, 100 Km/h on Highways and 120 -150 or 160 on the autobahn if it's free enough and I can keep plenty of distance to the cars ahead. I drive in a very relaxed, cruising kinda manner, even and especially when I drive fast, not like these wannabe racefreaks who allways come up close and hit the brakes only to speed up again the second they can pass. Sometimes, but just in very rare occasions I go a little faster than 160, but my old Golf just doesn't go any faster than 180 -190 Km/h maximum (unless it goes downhill) and it gets rather costly to drive that, fast wasting fuel.
In my dad's Audi I usually drive a bit faster than in my old Golf, usually around 130 -160 Km/h on the Autobahn and up to 210 - 220 Km/h maximum, but only if its very free, very straight and dry weather.
I only drive fast when I can keep a very large distance to the cars ahead otherwise that's just way too dangerous.

The highest speed I ever experienced in a car so far in my life was 267 km/h on a racetrack, the famous NŘrburgring (Nordschleife) in a BMW M3 with a professional racedriver driving the car.

On motorways I also follow the rule of "allowed speed + 10kph", but pretty much everywhere else I stick to the signed limit, unless I really know the road by heart, know the limit is rubbish and there's no way that a secret camera can be set up (since I know the cars that are usually parked there or there's simply no space to set it up).

The highest so far has been 160kph, but I probably won't do that again for quite a while. It felt a tad too quick and didn't like the looks of the fuel efficiency that dropped a lot.

Greetings,
Glodenox

110-120 kph, Swedish police are not very compromising when it comes to tickets.

About 230 kph on the A5 between Frankfurt and Darmstadt. Nice four lanes but it's a bit scary anyway.

I only drive on the german A3 between Cologne and Frankfurt am Main. 3 lanes on each side makes 6 in whole without emergency lane. Is 8 then in whole anyway.

Which is your 'cruising' speed on a motorway?
dont have a cursing speed, because there are lots of speed limits on that route. Mostly 100 to 120 and 130 km/h.

But without limit then between 160 and 180 km/h.

How fast have you ever gone on a motorway?

But without limits and safe and possible, free lane and downhill, i go up to the maximum speed of 210 km/h. And that's the fastest i have ever gone on a motorway.

It's an expensive waste of fuel, but it's worth the money it's cost.

I doesn't want to go faster, because i fear to harm my engine.

What about a normal 1+1 highway?

100 to 120 km/h, altough 100 km/h is the max allowed limit.

The fastest i have ever gone on a highway was about 160 km/h for about 5 seconds. lol. Idiotic and dangerous, but fun Yes, 5 seconds...1,2,3,4,5

@Revenant

"We also have point to point cameras, which measure your average speed over a set distance, so slowing down when approaching a camera and then speeding up doesn't work"

How many cameras did they install???

I call them Speed-Gestapo, because you know they can not stand and wait for you with their speed cameras everywhere, but they give you the feeling they could stand everywhere.

Yeah yeah you drive dozend of times the same tracks and you dont know where they are. They stand there and next day somewhere else.

Which is your 'cruising' speed on a motorway?

Usually I'm doing 110-120kph on 110kph stretch and 90-100kph on 90kph stretch of the motorway.

How fast have you ever gone on a motorway?

About 175kph in my puny 1.3 liter car. I might drive faster in a more powerful car.

What about a normal 1+1 highway?

Normally around 80-100kph but sometimes I can go up to 160kph on a clear road depending on my mood.

Which is your 'cruising' speed on a motorway?

About 130kph indicated on my dash, which is about 124kph on GPS. (Limit is 120kph in Belgium, fines are handed out for anything over 127).

How fast have you ever gone on a motorway?

I've tested my own car's limit on the German Autobahn - 173 kph, but not in Belgium. I'm not planning on losing my license any time soon.

What about a normal 1+1 highway?

I keep within the (limit + 10) speed, which is 90 kph in Belgium unless indicated otherwise.

On limited-access highways, 65-85 mph (105-135 km/h); on 2x2 regular highways, 65-75 mph (105-120 km/h); and on 1x1 regular highways, 60-70 mph (96 to 110 km/h), all according to traffic and road conditions.

The highest speed I ever drove was 110 mph (177 km/h) about 10 years ago to get around a dump truck whose load was not properly covered and from which gravel was flying all over the interstate.

My favourite cruising speed (when no traffic jams): 130-140 km/h
On normal roads I mostly drive 90-110 km/h
On the German A3 I've once driven at 175 km/h just to test, but my car would't go any faster. I don't like driving at those very high speeds. One mistake or false interpretation and it's "Game Over" - and traffic isn't a game, it's deadly serious.

Expressway cruising speed: 120-130 km/h, any faster and then I'm exceeding normal traffic by too much, which would attract the cops

Normal highway cruising speed: 70-100 km/h, exceeding 100 would make me catch up to the next car quickly and waste fuel without increasing actual travel speed

Fastest I ever driven: 145 km/h, but only for a few seconds when I wasn't paying attention to speedometer, I'm a teen driver, so if cops catch me, I get license suspended for a long time and a whole bunch of stupid shit. Once I get an adult license I would drive fast, but not on the east coast, only in interior US with less traffic

I would love to drive in China, but it's very unsafe, there's no enforced speed limits so if I had an open road I would go 200 km/h if possible, in the cities however high traffic limits the speed to 60 km/h at the maximum

Which is your 'cruising' speed on a motorway?

Depends on whether I am in a hurry (140-160 km/h) or not (120-140 km/h).
Sometimes, just relaxing:

What about a normal 1+1 highway?

90-100 km/h if I don't know the road, 120-140 km/h if its well familiar and permits it. I always obey the 40-60 limits in urban areas and villages .

How fast have you ever gone on a motorway?

200 km/h on long straights only several times to test the car.
