From the price per square you could see the difference..Pearl is approximately P 66K per sq while Sapphire is P 92K per square, Its just that RLC is tapping market which is supposedly for Cityland and units are bare.

according to RLC's dictionary, art deco = concrete facade with tiny windows

Other may opt to get sapphire in a different objective and so with the The pearl, from what I have heard, sale in Pearl in doing good so far.

LOL. Looks like this one's getting the bad vibes. Well, in fairness, the Sapphire looks really nice. Can be passed off as a high end building IF constructed well.

What's the big fuss about Art Deco?

3 of the most famous structures here in my place are of Art Deco designs

Vancouver City Hall

Burrard Street Bridge

And my personal favorite, one of the greatest Art Deco in the world, which was designed by an architect and an engineer - The Marine Building (http://www.vancouverhistory.ca/archi...e_building.htm).

* I personally snapped this shot during the Vancouver Winter Olympics *

scud: love art deco. it feels very rich. i think the others had a beef at RLC's characterizing their building (see rendering above) as "modern art deco."

My post on the Sapphire thread..

Art Deco - Also called art moderne; it is a modernization of many different artistic styles and themes from the past. It Emphasizes abstraction, distortion, and simplification by use of geometric shapes and intense colors.

FEU and Metropolitan Theater which is both in Manila are inspired by art deco architecture

New buildings in FEU designed by Arch. Pablo Antonio, Jr. can also be classified as "Modern Art Deco", they blended perfectly with Art Deco-styled FEU Main Building of National Artist Pablo Antonio Sr. Some might say "modern art deco" and "new art nouveau" are redundancy, pero ganun naman talaga ang styles, pabalik balik lang..hence the redundancy.

Speaking of National Artist Pablo Antonio, Sr. , he said "buildings should be planned with austerity in mind and its stability forever as the aim of true architecture, that buildings must be progressive, simple in design but dignified, true to a purpose without resorting to an applied set of aesthetics and should eternally recreate truth"
