Sorry, but where did this list come from? There is a thread about public transport in Europe here: which has the most up to date figures for route lengths. It has been constantly updated by other forumers through 15 pages of discussion.

This list includes only Trams though, or light rail when they are more closer in definition to trams than to metro systems, This list doesn't include the total trams within a metropolitan area. e.g. Frankfurt's metro area has three networks that are linked by S-bahn with a total of 125km. The Rhein Ruhr would also be enormous in total.
