Be a nice little ground that for an amateur club. Even Swinton Lions could groundshare it.

![]() I dont think a Swinton Lions groundshare is likely to be honest, First thing to say is that this stadium is going to be mostly self financed, with some of the funds coming from Manchester City Council not Salford. I believe this is due to the council thinking that it already subsidises the Sports Hall, so for FC to come along and take on the running of the site, the council actually saves money long term and to be fair, with what FC has done in the community as a nomadic "amateur" club so far in five years, it bodes very well for the future and Manchester having such a club in the area. The other thing is the pitch, I believe the money put aside for the pitch is quite significant, meaning that the likelihood of rugby studs digging into it is not really likely at all. And finally, I believe the ground will be under FC ownership under an Asset Lock agreement, so unless the members agree, which would have to be due to severe financial pressures in my opinion, there would be no groundshare. Oh and Ten Acres Lane is in Newton Heath, Swinton Lions belong in Swinton with its roots |

Yeah its been long mooted that Swinton have eyed that old sports ground in Agecroft. What stops them is a lack of money and perhaps a lack of council support.
Curious that this area of Gtr Manchester will have four newish sports grounds. Two at Sports City, FCUM and the new Oldham ground.

How refreshing to have a development going ahead where there isn't going to be lots of protests and objections. I think it's great the way FC have thought about and involved the local community. In return the local community have understood the benefits this will bring them and are supportive of the project. It's a win, win situation for everyone.

Big Game on Sunday everyone
FC United face Barrow at home in FA Cup FC United have been drawn at home to Conference National side Barrow AFC in the fourth and final qualifying round of the FA Cup sponsored by E.ON. The game will take place at Gigg Lane on Sunday 24th October, kick off 3pm. Supporters should be advised that the Manchester Road End and the Main Stand will be open to FC United supporters and the Cemetery Road End will be open to Barrow supporters. Metrolink Service On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October there will be no trams running on the Bury line. This is due to work for the construction of the new tram stop at Abraham Moss. A replacement bus will run from Bury to Piccadilly, calling at all stops to Victoria then non stop to Piccadilly Gardens and Piccadilly station. Passengers should buy their tickets from Metrolink ticket vending machines as normal, before boarding the bus. Alternatively, supporters can get the 135 bus from Manchester city centre which stops just before Gigg Lane. Tickets £8 Adults £5 Unwaged/Pensioners £2 Under 18s |
