Looks like Burj Dubai got a little competion on it's hands, also in the news today was a 1km high tower in kuwait althought it said it was going to take 25 years to build.
Things can still change a few news stories are nothing. I mean BD is actually well on it's way. Let the Race begin |

Nice Render, does not look as impressive as BD as it straight up, but nevertheless still will be impressive because of it's height.

So the picture by Trances I showed was the old design.
Okay, but is the render above the current design then? Because they look similar to me

what is the old render by trances? the one on palm jumeirah?
the tower has been redesigned slightly and additonal floors have been added, AND it has been moved from palm jumeirah trunk to Dubai Waterfront. |

I've just started a wikipedia article on Al Burj since there wasn't one before.
Feel free to edit and add more info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Burj |

^nice job.
You have included a skyline render, the tall building on the background is the Burj Dubai, right? I still can't take my eyes off the night version render, it's way better than the Burj Dubai. It's a shame they might have to take advantage of spires to get the total height higher, but the Chrysler building did the same and nobody blames them for doing so

I wouldn't count the spires on this tower though. Here they are just poles while the Chrysler one looks like it's part of the building.
BTW that's not burj dubai in the background. It's too small. Think that's just put in there for show. |

I have a question, has Nakheel released any pricing or availability yet for this tower?
