The Old Sheriff's House, on Market Street in New Castle. The brownstone Italianate house was built in 1858. Connected to the house in the back was the town jail, which was closed in 1901 and demolished in 1911. Some remnants of the old jail can be seen behind the building, such as doors to cells on the second floor of the house's walls, and part of the jail yard. ![]() Interesting. What brought you to Milton? |

Graves at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Chesapeake City Road in Pencader Hundred. The cemetery is the state's New Castle County location. The road through the cemetery is Sgt. James P Connor Memorial Circle. The Circle was named after Sergeant James Connor, who was a recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions in southern France in World War II. ![]() Nice. That area is pretty nice, and I try and get down there when I can as well. There's a lot of different and interesting little towns in that vicinity: Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Henlopen Acres, Milton, Dewey Beach, etc. |
