Not watched La Liga in a while but tuned in tonight to see Barca beat Deportivo 0-4 away from home. The commentator mentioned a statistic which made my jaw drop and I thought I'd post it up here for anybody who hasn't kept up with Spanish footy this season.

Everybody knows Messi and Ronaldo are the best 2 players on the planet at the moment and that they play in the two big Spanish teams and fierce rivals, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Well, this season, more so than last season, it seems like to two of them are competing directly with eachother and pushing eachother's games to new heights. As it stands, both players are on track to score over 50 goals this season.





If Messi plays 52 games this season and continues at his current goal scoring and assisting rate, he will score 56 goals with 30 assists.

Ronaldo is on track for 54 goals and 16 assists.

How anybody can deny that Messi is the best player in the World is beyond me. This Barca team is proper eye candy to watch and to anybody not paying attention to them, I'd suggest you start watching them play as you're missing one of the great teams in football.
