Very nice panoramic shot there Ordex. Very clear.
Still no work on the Collins Street frontage though. I would have thought that would have been finished by now but HM's boys don't even seem to have started it yet!

A "long distance" shot taken from Victoria Street. Still no work on the section fronting Collins Street though. I am assuming it's being kept clear to allow for the crane dismantling at some point.

Yep. She's gone now. Hobart crane count back down to two but the Menzies Stage II one will be up in a few months, so that is something!

Checked the site again today - sorry no photos this time - and it looks like they will be starting on the Collins Street frontage soon. Apparently, there will be a nice new bar area too!

Work has finally started on the Collins Street frontage. Rest of the building seems to be in the process of final fitting out. Completely finished in another 8weeks maybe?

Hmm don't you guys ever get frustrated or disappointed with the level of developments here in Hobart? Hadleys new building has got to be one of the ugliest monstrosities built in Hobart yet! No style, grace or shape. It looks like a prison block! I can't understand the reasoning of the HCC to let such shit developments get through when the few good ones that have come up for approval have been knocked back or appealed. I just wish there was something we as a group could do to get some decent looking highrise developments going instead. The other thing is that infilling these spaces with medium density buildings also means less space for the opportunity of decent highrises to get a go ahead in the CBD area (not that they would get through the HCC anyways)........all the while more concrete panels continue to sprout around Hobart. 10 Murray is looking fantastic in comparison, and that ain't saying much.

aussie abroad, i cannot agree more! i get very very frustrated at the stupid monolithic hcc that seems to totally lack any true vision for the city. and like you i have seen plenty of good ideas simply go to waste as the hcc paw over them in their padded rooms

The only positive, if there is one, is that as the city density improves some of the crappiest buildings get "diluted" by the increasing numbers. Hopefully instead of the cheap and nasty stuff we might see some quality emerging over time.
