Most of the lines outside the city center run above ground, with the exception of parts of the Nothern line, Piccadilly line, Victoria line (which is entirely underground) and Jubilee line (the 1999 extension). Everywhere else, it's more like a suburban rail network than a "metro".

I didn't travel much outside London city as well. But some lines are quite interesting like the one to Cockfosters or the Hainault loop. Some stations out there are nice underground ones like Finsbury Park, Southgate, Gants Hill. I've travelled too many metros to make maps of it, and in some cases I don't remember exactly where I went. I only have a list of cities (http://mic-ro.com/metro/visited.html , it's not quite up to date, i must still add Dublin, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Shanghai).

As far as I remember, from Hounslow Central to the Heathrow Terminals the Piccadilly Line is underground. I took the route in the west-northwest only because a few days earlier the bombings at Kings Cross took place with heavy impact on the operation of several lines (e.g. the piccadilly line was out of order in the centre) and my destination WAS Kings Cross. So I hoped that I could save time and avoid huge masses of travelers and commuters and took this way. There were a lot of rural-like areas. It is like taking the A1 from Eidelstedt to Ulzburg-Süd or the U1 from Berne to Volksdorf in the Hamburg network.

I have visited 55 or 56 metro systems and I cannot remember all the lines and stations that I made... Sorry!

I've tried to make a map for Paris but I couldn't remember perfectly well all the places I've been to during my whole life (for those who don't know I've always lived in Paris). Hence, I've got rid of the idea to show it.

The only thing I know is that I've taken at least once all RER lines and all metro lines except the line 7bis. The only lines I've taken entirely are metro line 1, line 6 and line 12.

The terminus of RER lines I've been to are CDG Airport and Robinson on line B, Marne-la-Vallée (to go to Disneyland) and Cergy on line A, Versailles RG on line C and Haussmann-Saint Lazare on line E (it's in the heart of Paris).

I've also taken fully the T2 tramway line (which is closer to a suburban rail line than to a tramway in my view), but I've never taken the T1 tramway line, I've seen it at Saint-Denis, but I haven't taken it. The T1 is on the other side clearly a tramway line.

According to what I've seen, it seems to be mostly at ground level. However, there can be viaducts here or there I don't know.
