RAK begins ambitious mixed-use project

Ras Al Khaimah : Ras Al Khaimah has embarked upon a major tourist and real estate project, with 2,500 villas under construction in a mountainous part of the emirate.

The project is being implemented by a major real estate company with a capital of Dh1 billion, said a Ras Al Khaimah Government official. "This project is a first for the UAE, in that the villas will be built in scenic mountainous areas," he said.

The ambitious mixed-use project will include airplane and helicopter landing areas, restaurants, resorts, and all necessary facilities and infrastructure.

The developer expects an enthusiastic public response, the official said.

"The villas will be offered for sale once the first phase of the project is concluded. They are expected to prove popular among both UAE nationals and expatriates."

A special road has been paved to connect the northern parts of Ras Al Khaimah with the central area, as part of the project, in order to give the emirate a more tourism-friendly image, the official added.

the new crown prince though is a big step in the right direction. i think he will go on to become one of the best rulers the emirates have had.

I suspect a frozen project anyway..

but did this one include the real sky resort too..

..lol....
