Actually they're pretty accurate. It's because in many ones including the CIA fact book the rock outcrops and the inner aegean basin are neglected and not counted at all!! as well as some other inner water areas. While in other texts they do. I have that info from text books I have as well from studies done by the ITU Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Geodesy and Photogrammetry.

Also Turkey counts that Aegean basin area belonging to its territory adding some 19,600 sq kms to its territory. Many, if not all countries do so, including Canada adding some 1,000,000 sq kms to its territory.

For some strange reason in many places the data for Greece has been changed showing 132,000 where many parts of the country are not added including islets, rock outcrops and the inner aegean basin part. Did you know that in the 132,000 result I don't know for which reason (in some books about the issue they say it's for simplicity reasons). only 400 islands have been counted! out of the 3000 or 6000 if we count the rocks. Also neglecting those parts the coastline have been reduced from around 16,000 to 15,000 and in some cases when more islets are neglected they give greece 13,100 kms of coastline (maybe someday they will just quit counting all the islands).

One point to have on mind for example the country with the largest number of islands and coastline of Europe, Norway, counts each one of its outcrops, islets and inner water areas (not counting lakes and rivers) or Fyords.

So all the data I collected from different places including Eurostat, Universities (from Greece, other European countries as well as from Turkey), Textbooks, etc are pretty accurate. And all coincided that's why all the data I added is from unbiased accurate sources (including translated turkish ones)

You are right, maybe in some weeks since I'm almost full time busy with work and there are also other projects I have momentarily stopped like the virtual Athens project also there's still the promise of me posting old pictures of Athens that I have plenty of (unfortunately I gave away some time ago the scanner so I have to ask for a favor to some friend).

Ha ha now I have to buy a brand new for myself, again. But priority in the list has the Digital Machine, since I want to take some pictures also of Athens and help a little in that labor of collecting stills of our city as well of our country and posting them here. So the scanner can wait, I'll scan them in some friend's house.
