Protection of British Colonial Architecture
Hi everyone!
Hoping you can help me out - I'm trying to find examples of British colonial architecture located in the former British Empire (India, Singapore, HK, Malaysia, South Africa, etc) that has been preserved or restored. Even more specifically, I'm hoping to find examples of this restoration going on WITH British help/support. Some examples: - Falmouth Post Office, Jamaica. Restored in 2003 with funds from the Georgian Society of Jamaica and Friends of the Georgian Society of Jamaica (UK). - St Andrews, Dalhousie Square, Kolkata. 2009, with support from Scottish Government. - St James Church, Delhi. Restored 1996-2001, with some support from HRM the Queen, INTACH UK Trust, British Council. Can you think of any other examples of recent restorations of this sort of architecture? |
