Burgfarrnbach Palace is 70 metres long and comprises 70 rooms on three floors. The two symmetrical wings share one neo-classical ballroom.

Up to the postwar period, there was a baroque tailor’s house in the castle gardens, as well as a chapel, a wooden pavilion called the “Karolienenruh” and the “Malakoff-Pavilion”, a reminder of the Crimean War. Today, the English-style garden is still a popular place for taking a walk and relaxing.

After the death of Count Gottfried in 1957 the male line of the noble family died out and the castle passed into the ownership of a donation trust named after the count Pückler-Limpurg. In 1968 the city of Fürth acquired the castle, refurbished it and has used it as city archives, scientific library and municipal museum.

In 2006 the city council decided that the municipal museum should be moved into the city centre. The empty rooms of the museum are to be turned into an art gallery, which shows the collected works of the artist Gebhardt, as well as works of other alternating artists.

I visited a little of the city that I didn't have the opportunity the last time. Also I did some evening/night shots. Hope you like them.

We start with Wöhrder Wiese Meadow / Wöhrder See Lake.
A long idyllic green belt stretches along the River Pegnitz, close to Nuremberg's Old Town. Here you can follow your fancies, maybe go for an extensive walk, skate, cycle, jog, throw Frisbees for your dog. Or you can order yourself a cool light beer at the bar of the "Wies’n" beer garden, snatch a deck chair, carry both to a shady spot and leisurely dream away the day.
