PTRCKDSIGN: Projects Thread
Hi!
I finally decided to go back to go back to my old roots and create a new thread where I could put all my future projects in. This is a brand new start for PTRCKDSIGN and thus, I made a new logo. ![]() To start off this new thread, I'll introduce the first project under it. Aurora Convention and Cultural Centrum The first project under this new thread is the ACCC which was my entry for the convention center competition. Here are hi-res 'renders' of the project. I can only provide three at the moment as the other renders won't upload. ![]() ![]() And finally, a new project to inaugurate this new thread, the Paulino Alcantara Arena re-design. The old one was quite simple for my taste and not to mention it got a bit of unwanted attention with the football fans from the Philippines to the point that I heard it was passed to the football governing body as a proposal. Well, I hope the rumors aren't true as I would be embarrassed for that shabby design. Also, my works had been circulating uncontrollably without my permission so I'll be placing larger watermarks to protect them. Enough of the talk, here's the newer stadium, which if you compare to the old one is much sleeker and cooler in design but with some similarities as well. The stadium is more detailed and is as of now finished, with only the landscaping of the complex left to do. Here's a teaser render for you guys! This is done with the same style as the ACCC renders but with an added Vray layer in Photoshop Paulino Alcantara Arena Re-Design ![]() Nice to be back and hope to hear your comments and suggestions!

Thanks DS! The last picture is actually rendered. I just added screenshots of the Sketchup model above it and combined it to make it look as if its drawn by hand, and still appear somewhat a bit realistic as well.

Hahaha... Okay. I use Vray as of now for renders and I'm still practicing. The results are almost always great even with default settings. I'll post some photo-realistic renders too of course. This is the Vray layer of the stadium above:

I'll get to that soon. I'm still designing the area around the stadium. Then I'll post the new renders hopefully soon enough.

Oh that! Sorry, the two terminals have been done for quite a long time actually with only the minor details left. I decided not to include an airport tower for the mean time. My problem is uploading the file which is 30.6 MB, and the internet here's just crappy and slow. The upload stops halfway through and I have to start all over again. Don't worry, I'll keep trying. I may halve the airport in two to make it easier to upload.

OK this time a question he definately hasn't already answered
How do you make photo-realistic renders? Because the stadium rendered with vray already looks very photo-realistic. I'm currently learning autocad because I have some ideas that I want to put to screen . Is it better to continue learning with autocad or stop and learn with Vray instead? Thanks! |

Replies+Bonus Render
Conor: Yes, there'll be a lot more. The stadium complex is far from complete but I can't wait to show you guys the design.
![]() _Dilettante: Thanks for dropping by! If you are a novice to 3D modelling, use Sketchup as AutoCAD is much harder to use and believe me, I tried to learn it but gave up LOL. Vray is a renderer which works directly with Sketchup, Rhino and 3DSMax but I'm not sure if it would work with AutoCAD. So my suggestion is to try out Sketchup and get Vray for it. You might have to read the tutorial file for Vray as it might take time to learn but the results are worth it. For the stadium, I used Sketchup, Vray and Photoshop to achieve that result. Hope to see your works soon! ![]() dnh310: Thanks for the compliments! ![]() And here's something I came up with last night, a photo-realistic render of the stadium with some post-prod Photoshop work. More renders soon, hopefully.

How much time did you put into the last render BD91?

germantower: Not that long, 10-15 mins max for a 1500x350 render. The Photoshop-ping took longer.

K, i tried to figure out how rendering works, but can't be arsed to do it properly haha. I like the "render style" you choose for ur convention center. Big up BD.

Don't worry, rendering takes time to learn. I took about a year to acclimatize to Vray and am still learning. You don't really need to render always to get good visuals. Try the style I did up there. No rendering needed. Thanks for dropping by!
