Here's a project I'd love to hear more about, but there's just about nothing to be found by googling the project name:
Jarleveien 2-4 http://www.maja.no/prosjekter/jarleveien-2-4.html On Urbika. ![]() This project would go a long way towards urbanising that spesific area. It's right at the edge of the "inner city". Unfortunately, the website is about as informative as a dead clam.

Well, Maja Eiendoms home page is not very impressive regarding information about their projects. By the looks of it though, it seems like there will be public functions on ground level (with the glass facade), offices higher up on the side towards Jarleveien (larger floor height), and apartments on the opposite side (lower floor height and balconies). So if this will be the case, it's a true multipurpose building - which i think is very good!

Now that's some depressive shit. Who approved those windows? This must be one the worst examples of cheapning from the renders to real life I have ever seen.
The windows reminds of this building in Tokyo (only without the cool pixelated theme to it):

Well, nice to see that others share the same opinions. It brings up a interesting question though: Should the city accept redesign like that after the buildings are approved? Surely it's then no longer the same building they green lighted?

The answer to this question is to me very simple: NO! The developer (Clarion) should not accept it, and neither should the authorities. If one first is to have a slick glass curtain facade, why on earth would you want to have small, oval shaped windows? The windows were floor-to-ceiling type in the rendering, and this is what it should have been built like.

Construction update
Ilsvika Extra
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...1&postcount=12 ![]() ![]() (c) arntf Construction has started, although there's not much to see yet. Judging from the renders it won't be much to look at when it's finished either...

I actually think Ilsvika Extra is alright for an apartment project. Nothing spectacular but 140 apartments, so fairly high density. Also the ground floor will be along the street on one side, so that you get more street "feeling"

10 favourite land plots I want to see built up:
10. ![]() Between Verftsgata and Innherredsveien. Two old and low wooden buildings mashed in between taller buildings. At least one of them has a bright future at the Sverresborg folk museum, but both should definitely make way for a taller infill. 9. ![]() In Presidentveita. It's a small plot between two older buildings, that's been used for parking cars for years. 8. ![]() This plot is currently planned for the new Thora Storm comprehensive school. 7. ![]() A former gas station, now parking lot in Schultz gate. The area is mostly low buildings. Some old, others made to fit in. This street needs to be completed with a similar building. 6. ![]() Two open plots between Erling Skakkes gate, St. Jørgensveita and Kannikkestrete. The larger has been used for nothing more than a parking lot for years. 5. and 4. ![]() ![]() Both plots are at the Bakke Bru roundabout, where the Rica Hotel Bakklandet is currently being built. Filling these plots would transform the roundabout into a true urban space. 3. ![]() This plot at the bottom of Brubakken was formerly built up, but has now lain open for years and has been used as a parking lot. Several projects have been proposed over the years but all have been brought short by fears that modern architecture would devalue the area. 2. ![]() There has already been a proposal to extend the Royal Garden Hotel southwards to Bakke Bru. I wholeheartedly agree, but as far as I know, nothing has been decided yet. 1. ![]() Three wharf houses in Fjordgata, close to Ravnkloa, tragically burned down in 2007 and the plot has been left open since, a festering eyesore in the city. It's high time the plot was rebuilt.

This is excellent Arntf! I've actually thought of highlighting such a list myself, but i fully support yours. It backs up what I've stated before in this forum: There are plenty of vacant plots centrally in Trondheim, and i may just add a few more to your list too. Unfortunately there is a lack of both will and ability from the city administration to develop. And the "Byantikvaren" does of course not help either!
It demonstrates the fact that even though the official policy is densification, it is not carried out very well. In addition to the completely vacant plots, there are as well properties with poor shacks that ought to bee torn down and replaced with something new and larger. An example of this are these two sorry old houses in Innherredsveien, which has been abandoned for years. The property owner has said he wants to remove them and develop the property, but he's not allowed to do so, so they're just standing there falling to pieces...
