Photos taken (rather swiftly) of prints on the walls of the stairs in the old Wellasly Hotel development - City Central.
One day I'll get some decent (in focus!! sorry) shots.

The tram in the upper picture was I think a cast off from Southampton.
In the lower picture the foremost tram was also from Southampton whilst behind it was a home grown 1920's 'Chamberlain' model (named after the head of Leeds City Transport Department at the time). The tram at the back was a cast off from London. |

The tram systems in those cities were starting to run down before Leeds and their rolling stock must have been going cheap. One cast off from Sunderland was a very modern looking (and quiet) single decker. As for the stiff seats - people were hardier then !
