Great photos around Veveří street, I know it very well coz i studied at faculty of civil engineering there, you could take some photos from the centre of Brno as well.
Anyway, great job!

thnx ...tomorrow, i d`like to visite Old Town and Špilas (castle) ... so be ready for new load of pictures. Brno isnt comparable to Praha ofcourse but imo its very overlooked here (and all other czech/moravian/slovak cities)

I can't wait for your next posts, you are doing great job here. One day you could show as photos of Skalica or other slovakian cities, I'm very curious.
Keep on like this!

Pictures from my trip to Špilberk (castle on the hill over the city, former prison, also known as jail of the nations)

A typical postcard view - Petrov (St. Peter and Paul`s Cathedral)

City Center

Castle Špilberk

View to the SW - the highrise is Fakultni nemocnice Bohnice (hospital), as i know the
highest building in Brno (around 90m and 19floor).

A little Vienna - my favorite part of Brno - Žerotínovo námestí with university, regional governement and
lawcourt buildings. You can see also Mies van der Rohe`s masterpiece in the middle of the picture on the hill - world
famous Vila Tugendhat.

a closer view of Vila Tugendhat - it`s hard to believe that this mansion was build in 1930!! - including many features that are still
not standard! Realy worth seen!

not so typical view of Petrov and southern part of the city

industrial area right next to the old city center

northern skyline with Tivoli square art nouveau buildings, Šumavská and VUT "skyscrapers"

Brno - northern part of city and Lesná commies....

view to the south - a new quarter with central train station is planned here (project is already approved)

view to the south - shopping centers, offices, M-Palác highrise ... nothing special.... you can see also Pálava hills in the background

I spent 2 weeks working in Brno last summer and was very impressed. Stayed in a place called the Royal Ricc near the veg market. It wasa great city with good restaurants and shopping. I just wish I discovered the nightlife near the uni sooner. Also the city is very different from the UK in that it was dead on weekends when here the cities are at their busiest for shopping. I would like to visit again though. Its also very hand for other cities in central Europe.
