RahAhan Tehran is moving to Mashhad

The team was purchased two days ago by a Mashadi investor named Mohamadi Far for an amount of about 4 billion tomans.
I think he owns Padideh Shandiz but its just a rummer. The team is already in big financial debt exceeding over 4 billion tomans. The new owner will officially announce his plans for the team today.

rah ahan is one of the most historical teams in iran's football, its like moving persepolis to esfahan

they just want to destroy the teams

mashhad already has dozen teams

According to AFC deadline, Iranian clubs in IPL have to privatize by 2012. If Iran does not meet this deadline they are going to loose their spots in Asian champion league. Currently Iran has four spots.
Rah Ahan was the first team that its stocks were offered in Tehran Stock exchange with the idea of privatization and other teams like Esteghlal & Perspolis are going to follow.
There us no doubt that privatization Idea is very good and under normal circumstances could help improving our football. But I don't think it has a chance in Iran giving the level of 'Mafia Bazi' and power games in the 'khodi' circles monopolizing everything in Iran. That's beside the fact that here is no TV rights and other standards (Private stadiums, etc.).
Rah Ahan was sold four days ago and still nobody for sure knows who the owner is and what is going to happen to the poor team. One they they are told they will move to Mashad under name of Prespolis or Aboumoslem and next they get the 'news' that they will stay in Tehran and all of this is happening when the deadline for the IPL players transfer is next week!!!
One thing for sure is that Rah Ahan, Like Pas Tehran will be vanished in a short period and there will be nothing left of it but history.

What I don't understand: Persepolis, Esteghlal and Tractor Club draw huge crowds for their football games, but they are not even in the top 400 richest sports clubs, here:

http://www.stadiumzone.weebly.com

Are they forgotten or just not that rich? I thought they'd be in the list for sure.

Iran karatekas win 5 medals in China

Iranian karatekas have won five medals on the opening day of the 10th Asian Karatedo Federation Senior Championships in China.

The Iranian karate fighters finished the kumite competition with two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals at the Qiaoxiang Gymnasium in Guangzhou on Saturday, IRNA reported.

Saeed Farrokhi overpowered opponents from India, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, and Japan to meet a Chinese rival in the final. He downed the Chinese karateka for the -75-kilogram category gold medal.

Zabihollah Poursheib defeated karatekas from Nepal, Japan, and Uzbekistan to take home the gold medal of the +84-kilogram category.

Amir Mehdizadeh and Mehdi Soltani also won bronze medals for the Iranian outfit in the -60-kilogram and -84-kilogram categories.

Iranian female karateka Hamideh Abbasali bagged a silver for the Iranian team in the +68-kilogram class.

The karate competitions are held in two disciplines, namely sparring (kumite) and forms (kata), and karatekas may enter either as individuals or as part of a team.

The Iranian kata team will compete with their rivals on Sunday.

The 10th Asian Karatedo Federation Senior Championships opened on July 23 and will run until July 25, with 33 countries participating in the event.
