Looks like a good mall. Is it in an affluent suburb?

No. It's sort of sandwiched in between a mixed-use commercial/industrial area (though now much less industrial than before) and a housing project/commie block. However, it is only five minutes away by car from some affluent suburban and urban neighborhoods.

Nope. In the USVI they have plenty of small strip malls, one or two large discount stores (K-Mart to be exact), one or two Puerto Rican supermarkets (Pueblo), and a lot of Puerto Rican bank branches (Banco Popular, mostly). The only upscale shopping outlet is downtown Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, which is geared up for tourists and consists almost completely of jewelry, hard liquor, and cigars (all of which are cheaper and perhaps more varied than in Puerto Rico or the mainland due to the town's status as a free port; many Puerto Ricans go there to buy exotic spirits, jewelry, and cigars). For everything else (clothing, electronics, etc.), Plaza Las Américas is the main venue in the Caribbean, and as such, Virgin Islanders just love to go there

There are lots of malls in the US that are incorporating other uses, such as commercial office space and residential apartments to diversify the offerings.
Here's an example: http://www.icsc.org/srch/apps/newsds...75®ion=main |

It's the biggest in central america and the caribbean... It's very big, but they own a lot of unknowed brands stores, so it's kind of bored. But it's the crowest i've ever meet. Anyway, it's a nice mall.

Beautiful Mall...
I have heard of it actually...some of the larger stores (Sears, Macy's, JCPenny) are in the same regional divisions as the ones here... |
