A stadium constructed in an airport terminal?

I like the architectural concept and name.
I'm not sure about the location, but it does have the look of a terminal at least lol

I is actually located behind the terminal, next to Botevgrad blvd and when the Northern city speedway will be build it will have a good connection to the city's infrastructure. Presumably the metro will be extended to the stadium.

Unnecessarily frivolous. But if it does take off then its a very unique design. Good luck to them

The rendering appeared on the media yesterday, so we gotta wait for the construction for at least a few months.

But is that the design that's been announced as the new national stadium for 40k near the airport some few months ago? In other words - how official is it and what's the status - have they got any permits, etc.?

Well a few months ago there were rumors that the government wanted to build a national stadium and the area next to the airport was one of the potential places where they wanted to build it.

This proposal was made by a group of Spanish investors and it will work under a public-private partnership. The municipality will provide land, while the investors will build the stadium together with a mall/hotel/offices.

Nothing is finalized as of yet and if this moves through, most probably there might be some changes in the stadium's parameters (higher capacity).

There is also another project that was announced by the Sports minister. He has been dealing with the group that manages the Amsterdam Arena and it seems that they would also be interested in forming a public-private partnership to build a national stadium.

For now the "Arena of the Roses" seem to be in a more advanced stage but at the same time, things change quite a lot in Bulgaria, so I wouldn't bet my money that this project will be realized.

Any info about the price tag of this beauty?
Although it's a beauty, it's a little too pompous for me.

And last but not least, what are the chances for the stadium to be built?

For the price, I wouldn't be able to tell you. The investors presented three projects this one (40 000) and two other stadiums (15 000 & 25 000) and said that the total invesment in those three stadiums would be around EUR 450M.

This is not the final version of the stadium this is for sure. The government has shown support and said that they will create a public-private partnership in order for the project to go through. The investor said that if needed the capacites will increase. But nothing is sure in BG, sometimes there is a lot of talk but not enough walk. We will see...

Actually you are entirely right. The project was designed to look like the Alexandre Nevski Cathedral in Sofia.

excuse me guys! i like this project very esthetic standards

But yesterday i saw a report on french tv that pointed all corruption aspects of bulgaria.

My question is : is there a scandal around this project too?

if no it is very cool and all best wishes for bulgaria and projects.

The report showed how beautiful and cheap was the tourism on coast.

If after seeing one report you have questions about every possible development in Bulgaria, I would be insulted, were I Bulgarian. That's just stupid.
