Help needed...city stopped growing
Hi everyone,
Well I have played Simcity a bit but I am not a pro at it. I have been aiming for a city with 500K + population..and from the pictures I have seen of people, they are able to do it without much use of land..so I started working on a small-mediumish map which is half covered with water..and everything is going well and I have a population of 60k..my budget is positive..no major traffic or pollution problems..all the demands are over 6000..but I have no land left to zone more areas..so I made two more cities..one industrial city..where I filled all the demand of my industries..and the other a commercial city. however, i have not zoned any, repeat any residential area in the other two cities. after making the cities..my main city grew a bit from 60 to 75k...but now i am stuck. my buildings are going vertical at all...the biggest residential buildings that i have only hold 2500 people..how do i make my residential city grow more? tl dr -- major city not growing after 75k population, even after two neighboring cities (pure industrial and pure commercial) |

ad more cities with mixed use, educate people creating better jobs and losing pollution. Makes sure you region is 100K+ to get bigger buildings and connect the cities good. OH btw, buildings don't get that big in Sim city.
And it's a bad idea to make commercial and residential seperate. People will have to trave to far to their jobs. It's ok to relocate the industry though. But once you have clean industry they don't pollute anymore so it's not that bad to have them in your city. With Sim city Rush hour this is about how tall they get: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

thanks a lot! my city has started growing once again and now its population is around 115K
my neighboring cities finally started helping my main city grow..and now i am slowly removing commercial areas from my city to replace them with residential..i will leave out some prime commercial area though..hopefully they will grow into big skyscrapers.. and now most of my residential buildings are skyscrapers..they are i think as big as yours in the picture..i guess that's how big they go without the mods and bat files. and i will post some pics of my city soon! |

More parks, more green areas and more public transport (less trafic) should resolve your problem
