Iran Air

Anyone here travelled with Iran Air before from London Heathrow to Tehran?

How would you rate the experience?

And do the flights from LHR include in-flight entertainment on board?

you will be on a Airbus 300-600 delivered 1992, a year ago they used to use a 747-286 and 747-sp but since they are banned whitin the EU/UK they don't fly them anymore into Europe, if you want more quality for your money, I suggest you to book your ticket with Mahan Air from Birmingham

The risk is great, haven't you seen the news, planes crashing into those Iranian mountains every day!

Lol no chance, or very very very low. So low, that you can't even tell.

Thanks for the info guys.

My father and all other passengers was booted off the Mahan flight last night, due to Mahan not paying ground rent at Birmingham airport.
I think that will be the end of Mahan to the Uk for the moment, looks like the UK government has "Parti" with the airport.

Iranian airplanes seem to be crashing a whole lot, I'm guessing the sanctions... have had a affect on the industry.

The last time I flew from London to Tehran with Iran Air was in 1981!

The 747 was quite new, a leftover from the ancient régime. The plane was empty, as at that time everyone was trying to leave Iran, not return. I had six full sized suitcases, but wasn't charged for going over the limit. The service was friendly, but quite basic. I think the flight attendants were a bit depressed about having to wear headscarves.

this should go in aviation but domestic flights have asked to not give food in flights since its too expensive now (prices) however their excuse is that domestic flights are short so its not needed lol
