The stadium was one of the venues for the Copa America 2007.

And it's not finished yet

I laughed the bit in the first post that compared it to Old Trafford because it didn't have an athletics track. Only in South America.

Well, but isn't only in south america, because there are stadiums without atletics tracks, for example: The Bombonera into Buenos Aires, Nationals into Santiago from Chile, Chaco into Paraguay.
